The latest exclusive interview of Yao Ming by Wang Meng of Titan Sports right after the win over the Toronto Raptors in which he talked extensively about his pains/sufferings from the flu, how he once considered resting for the game, about his way of leadership and about his team current progress and performance. ENJOY !!!
Yao is showing his true warrior spirit. Although he sometimes has soft hands and a soft touch, his heart has never been soft. He is a true competitor. Now if he will just continue to always dunk the ball when close enough, foul a few people hard, and hold on to the ball very tight and high; he will again be considered the most dominant big man in the game.
QFT. Anyone who accuses Yao of being soft needs to have their head examined. This guy is a warrior and an inspiration. He's going to win a ring, eventually. It's only fair. I can't think of a more deserving person.
It's must be Steve passed the germs around when he joined the team in Chicago so he can have play time.
hey pry does CCTV have anyone who just follows yao around all season? kinda like the japanese media and matsui here in ny
Every time Yao talks big, he imediately gives a disappointing performance to follow it, as if he can't play well when he cares too much. Sorry, but this is the FACT. [edit] I have to take back what I said after actually reading the article. Yao, you are a true warrior!
Bob, that is not a "fact" so please just stop talking. Instead of worrying about coincidences (Yao playing poorly sometimes after talking with the media) just recognize the importance of the article. Yao is becoming a leader in the truest sense of the word and we are seeing that he is by no means "soft." Also, the team seems to be gaining confidence, trust, and chemistry. I am happy.
I appreciate if you could give me a list of the dates when he talked big but performed badly next game. Thanks in advance.
Good interview and good translation. Yao Ming will fight through throwing up and diarrhea. A hard man is not going to let some soft **** stop him. Also interesting is the talks about Shane Battier directing traffic on the court. It's good to have smart players. The D really won the game for the Rockets. Now I wonder how the Rockets plan on dealing with the Warriors, a very bad matchup for them given the fact that they can a lineup out there forcing Yao to defend the perimeter. I don't know if there is a Jamario Moon on the Warriors for Yao to cover.
I noticed Yao was very slow in last game. I thought it was because he had logged too heavy minutes in previous games. I did not know he had such a bad flu. Think back, that 25/11 says so much about a true player.
Yao has nothing to back up. He might not play as well as you expected, but he always plays as hard as he can. He simply speaks about the truth that he will try his best to be a leader and contribute to the team. I think he backs up that every time on the court with his efforts even though he can't deliver the win sometimes.
what if, what if, tmac had the same spirit, attitude, and concern for his team as demonstrated in this amazing yao interview....thats what dreams are for I guess
I love Yao's attitude. The guy is a trooper, and he tries so hard to be gthe best he can be for his teammates, and feels like he dishonored the team if he does anything less. Gotta love that attitude. Hopefully he can show the world just how good he really is in the next week or 2 without T-Mac.
Yao did not come to practice today! Doese anyone know whether it means that his flu got worse or he needs some time to rehab? I m worried.
Who would dare question Yao's toughness after he plays with the flu and wins two straight regular season games. I mean just imagine when he wins a division title or a playoff series, the man's legacy will be set for all time. Ha...
