He should be able to speak about them because he played the game professionally but that doesn't mean he can lead an NBA team in any way, shape or form. If he had ever shown any kind of potential, someone would have begged him to coach a long time ago. Thanks for explaining the purpose of the forum...I was confused about that. I thought it was intended for intelligent discussion about things that could potentially happen within the realm of possiblity; not for you to pose ideas that you come up with in 10th grade homeroom. everybody is disappointed and wants to "go young and athletic", i can understand that because we are losing and merely 50%. However, you could refer to Portland since they are having a 12 winning streak but before that? they were crap and their fans were b****ing like us. Well, look at other "young and athletic" teams like T-wolves,Bobcats,Bucks. Are they losing "with heart"? I don't see it. you always have two possibilities of rebuilding. Rebuild doesn't necessarily make you TOUGH or LOSE WITH HEART. it's just our last resort. Neither you nor I know anything about what's happening in the locker so don't say every player doesn't care. At least YAO is trying to carry the team, Scola playing hard, Brooks emerging, Battier rediscovering his defense and shooting. Just don't go desperate too soon if you have watched the Rockets for so many years.

blastaway, I don't know which is more idiotic: Your deluge of inane trade ideas (bring in Ricky Davis?!?) or your getting all in people's faces because they disagree with your one-man crusade to get Calvin Murphy the Rocket's head coaching job. Regardless, you might want to tone down the accusations regarding other posters' family life or you'll likely find yourself having to post your brilliant trade ideas on the ESPN bbs (where they're actually MORE likely to be applauded). Sure an analyst is occasionally promoted to head coach -- but I don't think I've ever seen a case in which that person wasn't a coach beforehand. And definitely not this long after his playing career. If Murphy's analysis is so amazing, why has nobody EVER offered him a spot on a coaching staff? I'll answer that for you: It's because only YOU can see the brilliant basketball mind hiding behind the shiny purple pinstriped suits. So if Murphy gets the head coaching job, you should get the GM job. Apparently, you know basketball intricacies that other GMs and head coaches don't.

If Tracy continues to miss games, I'm not sure the Rockets could find anything approaching equal value for him. Maybe the "injury" is a way of scaring other teams away from wanting him. The bottom line is that this season is ugly and getting uglier. I haven't seen this type of venom since Franchise played his way out of town. As to Tracy, he had a rep before he landed here, so it's not just a bunch of local fans hating on him. There's no conspiracy. There's no unfair criticism. This is professional sports. Everyone gets barbecued, but that's the price for being rich, famous, and spoiled. Those that can handle the heart rise to fame and glory (like Brady last night) and those that can't handle the heat get passed around their league like a bowl of chips at a card game, only to eventually run out of chances and fade away. Is this fair? Well, it's a hell of a lot more fair that most of us have it, so I'll save my tears for someone who really deserves it. After all, Tracy did say it was on him.
Also he should be able to take the critism a lot better with that $19 mil per year! That should pay for therapy!

Putting aside contender status and getting out of the 1st round, can this team even make the playoffs this year? Every week I check the standings, and to my dismay, teams like Portland, GS, and LA have begun distancing themselves from us. A team with Yao and TMAC not making the playoffs. Wow.
