If you haven't noticed already, the Rockets have really stepped it up recently (EXCEPT the Detroit game).

Battier and Luther are starting to get their wet touch back.

Brooks is getting the minutes he deserves and contributing by passing and shooting.

Yao is getting more and more agressive, stepping up.

Scola has shown some flashes also.

I don't remember the last time we played so well on a back to back but this time we did.

Lets hope Yao and the Rockets make a run similar to Tmac last year when Yao got injured.

    GO ROCKETS! WE BELIEVE!

Last season, when Yao got injured, Mutombo and Howard really stepped up, so this time, we need the outside shooter to step up and make the oppenents pay if they keep double teaming yao

It's nice not watching 4 guys stand in place while Yao or Tmac ISO

Fluid offensive sets and Yao's dominance are creating a lot of open shots and cuts.

I think the real difference is that guys are knocking down shots lately.

If Scola and AB can continue to develop, we could be dangerous

Rafer had a great game tonight with his 3point shooting. I still see some dumb turnovers caused by lazy passes (ahem, bonzi) but I think that's something that gets cleaned up once the offense really gets into motion.

We really got a glimpse of that tonight. Even adelman was amazed how yao mixed up the moves and went on the weakside, waited, and got the ball to prevent double teams. We're really seeing some creativity from yao, and HOPEFULLY, tmac will realize he needs to change his game to get his "easier shots" he's been wanting at the beginning of the season.

I still think mike james and steve francis could contribute to the team somehow. Whether they get their shooting down, or they get traded. Those guys sitting on the bench doing sht is just wasted team contribution.

Everybody is always overly optimistic about ROOKIES.

They want to believe every rookie will be the SAVIOR. The reality is, Brooks and Scola will be serviceable players in the league for years to come, but definitely is not All-star caliber. I am not sure Brooks will be a career starter. I'd bet money he's a career back up. Scola has a better shot at starting for a team but he looks more like Chuck Hayes with a jump shot (and low post / up and under moves)

They'll be good and they'll gain experience but don't count on them to "develop". They are what they are.

A two game win streak sparking threads like these only crystallizes how bad this season has been for me.

haha DD is not making it any easier for you eh? There is one positive to this season for me. I can actually watch a game without t-mac playing with a hope that we will win. Thats a step in the right direction..

Jesus, Sam. It beats the hell out of the Fire/Trade Everybody threads that get posted at a rate of 2 threads per minute after losses.

We beat two mediocre teams, but we beat them without TMac and we had guys play well as a team and they defended well.

I don't get why you are so pessimistic.

Scola is a quality player. Watch the league pass games and listen to what the announcers for the opposing teams have to say about Scola. The announcer for the Memphis game loved him. What's wrong with Scola right now? Tonight's a perfect example--he overplayed on Bosh 20 feet away from the basket and got bailed out when Yao stepped up to take a charge. In other words, Scola's too eager, he's too agressive and he's still getting used to the NBA. Once he's got some playing time under his belt he's going to be legitimately dangerous.

As for Brooks, listen to the praise Adelman heaped on him after tonight's game. He looks good out there, I think he's got a ton of upside, and to say he's not going to be a starter--especially on this team with its deficiencies at the PG position--is crazy.

we'll lose the next two straight against golden state and boston.
there's no way we can run with the warriors and as for boston...enough said.

I'm happy because after a season where only two freaking guys average double figures the Rockets just had two games where six and five players scored in double digits. That's the hallmark of Adelman's system and I think the Rockets are finally, finally getting into it.

I don't understand why some people are so pessimistic. We've won 2 games in a row. You can argue that these are two teams we should beat anyways. We should all feel good that we are beating teams we should be beating, and all without our highest paid player. All I've been reading is how we can't win games without T-Mac and how bad Yao's/Houston's record is without T-Mac. We're finally winning games without T-Mac. Be happy!

Oh come on, the team is 15-15, just won back to back without it's best player and is showing major signs of "getting it" and you want to whine about how the rest of the year has been?

Give us a break, the team is coming around, get aboard or go away.

    SHEESH !

Too good to be true, hey, it's true :D

I hope that does happen when we play with some other elite teams in this league as well.
