I'm curious, why do teams use a 3-4 instead of a 4-3 other than the obvious lineman for linebacker exchange?

That finger in the eye nonsense by Fatfork made me mad. I want the Pats to go down! Props to Manning and the Giants on that TD drive. Go Giants!

In a base 4-3 you usually are operating with 2 pass rushers, 2 run stuffers, and 3 linebackers for coverage/blizting. In a 3-4 you go to 2 ends and a nose tackle, but usually have 1-2 linebackers rushing the passer with the others dropping back into coverage. It is supposed to give you more versatility as far as matchups go.

I'm going to be pissed if the mediocre Giants win. I'm not a Patriots fan, but I AM a fan of historic moments. Okay, so I also like seeing every NY team lose as much as possible. Is that so wrong?

That's it for the Patriots. They are done. They are so yesterday. Goodbye undefeated season. Goodbye Super Bowl.

Because the Patriots have a bye week, IMO a loss tonight won't have a carryover effect.

Oh I beg to differ. They would have 2 weeks to stew over blowing this historic opportunity.

Not so fast, Pats put up 15 unanswered points. Serves the Giants right for playing like p*****s on offense.

Did that just really happen? Moss dropped that pass and ON THE VERY NEXT PLAY they go right back to him for a 65 yard TD. That could be the most unforgettable play of their season if the Pats win.

great. give up the lead, the passing TD record and the receiving TD record all on one shot b/c you're too ****ing stupid to realize they were just going to bomb it to moss again after it almost worked the time before. and why am i more aware of the fact that randy moss is good and tom brady likes to throw to him than most nfl defensive backs? that's about the 7th or 8th moss TD where he's been wide open this year and several have been on a safety like james butler (who might need to go kill himself) who just decides to not play deep against moss and gets beat by 10 or 15 yards.

but you knew this was over as soon as eli dropped that snap. he completely went into a shell at that point (almost tripped on the next down, called TO the next play) and is done as far as making plays tonight. the giants gave it a shot, and had a chance to make it a game late, but stupidity and carelessness blew it.

Agreed. After the previous drop by Moss, going back to him was like a big "F--K YOU" to the Giants and everyone else. Regardless, as you say, quite SICK....

    That was the strike-shortened season.
