rafer: b (clearly our best pg; shooting is streaky but has shown ability to finish at the rim; passing and ball-handling skills best on team) tmac: c (soft. lazy on defense. not a leader. still extremely talented when healthy; someone who can still carry the team and make plays) battier: c (weak one-on-one defender, no offensive game. still a pretty clutch three point shooter and effort is never in question) hayes: c- (frustrating on offense and free throw shooting; still good rebounder and hustler. has not shown much improvement/growth) yao: b+ (despite struggles to handle double teams, he's still delivered by raising his rebounding averages and blocks per game. has shown leadership traits, calling out the team and leading by example) bonzi: b- (has definitely come around the last few games and he's fully capabale of avg. 15 points a night; his ability to drive offsets his weak shooting) james: d- (in a shooting slump all season; often times selfish; little ability to drive and finish; not a good facilitator; however, if he improves his shooting, he can still contribute) franchise: d+ (has shown few flashes of his previous ability; out of shape and no confidence in his offensive ability) head: b (i thought he was not going to be a contributer, but has shown his worth with sufficient play time; still our best shooter and has shown surprising ability to drive and finish at the rim) brooks: b (has definitely shown promise and should log significant minutes as our primary backup at pg; quickness is incredible and has shown vision in finding teammates; shot has been cold from downtown but that should come around) scola: c+/b- (though fouls too much and has not fully adjusted to nba play, his tenacity and passion is admirable and he has shown ability to score in the post) snyder, deke, landry, novak: not enough minutes adelman: c (playing yao too much, often times does not adjust lineup; average game management) morey: a (although moves has not panned out as hoped, he has given up little to add talent; scola move looks like it will pay dividends in the long term) les alexander a- (seems willing to pay to win)
Grades at least somewhat relative to player - obviously McGrady and Yao need to do more than Hayes or Head to earn an A. Yao: B- Looked MVP dominant before getting hurt Dec of last year, and only his leadership seems to have taken a step forward this year. McGrady: C- If there is someone that could command the locker room, it's him, and he doesn't. I've/we've got major questions about his determination and drive. Battier: B- Playing his game like a rock, but he can't do an awful lot outside of the team concept, so he can't help much when the team can't play as a unit. Rafer: B- The numbers still aren't there, but at the 1-spot, you need ball-handling, discipline, and poise. Rafer is at least adequate in that regard. Hayes: B Doing fine, but is yet another offensively-challenged guy in an offensively-reliant system. Scola: B Can't develop fast enough. The sooner he gets farther along the learning curve, the better. Bonzi: B- There's more there, and we need it. Would also help if he could show up more consistently. Head: C+ He is what he is, a one-dimensional shooter that can occasionally run off a Yao baseline screen for a layup. Defense, handle, and passing are terrible. Francis: D Crummy attitude, crummy effort, crummy production. James: D Only good thing about trading for him has been shutting up the popular and misguided BBS notion that we would have gone farther last year with him instead of Rafer. Deke, Brooks, Novak, Snyder: INC Adelman: D+ A system is no good if you can't implement it. A quarter of coaching is Xs & Os, the rest is getting your guys to give 100% and getting them disciplined in their roles. His soft-handed approach has made him an abject failure beyond the Xs and Os. Front Office: C+ They brought in talent, but it isn't meshing and they are just watching as the squad wanders aimlessly. Breath fire down their necks or make changes. Now. Evan
Rockets are below 500 so thats an F, because they would fail to make the playoffs with that record. D- for 8th seed, say 1-2 games over 500 now, and 5-6 by the end.
individual grades are pretty pointless. COLD - we can all agree that francis and james have been busts up to this point; losing all minutes to a rookie. HOT - head and brooks have been nice surprises thus far. LUKE WARM - bonzi and scola can really contribute, but take too many nights off. GUNDY'S GUYS - rafer, shane, hayes seem like they will not really fit under adelmans system. ball movement and shooting, offensive creativity. these guys have little of that. they have been less productive under the new coach. COACH - adelman's offense has looked really good on some nights. i think he needs some time to mold the roster more to his liking. the players will also need more time to learn the system. STARS - yao has been a man. period. tmac has looked great, then looked like he doesn't give a damn...then got injured. he needs to step up or let go of the strangle hold he has on the offense.
You are what your record says you are. What seed in the west are we so far? 1- A+ 2- A 3- B+ 4- B 5- C+ 6- C 7- D+ 8- D I think our team at this point gets a failing grade. We should be talking about what has gone wrong, because we have a better roster than last year at this point in the season. I guess everyone else just got a whole lot better.
u guys' dedication and passon to and for the rockets are mind boggling i'm extremely proud to be a part of the clutchfans family! 。。。。 。 。。 。。。 。 。。。。。 。。。。。。 those are tears of joy by the way and i give the rockets a grade of A+ for their poor performance but their excellent display as consumate professionals.
Rafer C+(somtimes, I really hate they hit the rim over and over. ) T-mac Between C+ ~b{sorry, your score is just like your performace(not only judged by scores but every aspect in a game) as well as your body.} Battier C+ Hayes C Yao B+(His desperate and consecutive commitment needs every one else in this team except him to learn though his performance does not content me yet. Look it up, man, you may do better than that.) Bonzi C+ James d(no doubt about that) Franchise d(I m really negative about his condition and personally I dont think he will be back for us.) Head C+(not a good decision-maker and penetrator. Although he is not good at attacking the basket, I expect he does better.) Brooks B(for a rookie like me , what else you expect more from him?) Scola B-(South America MVP, I think he is adaptting to RA new system. so far so good) Adelman B
Rafer (B+) - has improved his floaters, runners in the paint lately, still bricking 3s & mid-range jumpers. Head (B-) - shows flashes sometimes, tries hard at defense but still no good, keeps up his shooting but Head is a poor decision maker on the court. Very little improvements after 2 years in his game. Francis (C) - needs to get in shape. played 1 good game vs Suns and was sucking wind in his 2 starts. Francis really has a different game to offer and can help the team. James (C-) - poor defense, bricking his shoots & poor decision maker. But please try to be a professional. The latest couple of games showed James was not even trying. Hayes (B) - hustles, rebounds, defense. the only thing I can wish for is Hayes should finish his layups better. Hayes should have 62%+ FG%. Scola (B) - shows flashes. plays hard, hustles. but is inconsistent at defense & offense. needs to be consistent at either end b4 he can be a starter. Battier (B+) - is shooting better lately. still does a terrific job in defense. Battier needs to continue his aggressiveness in offense as showed in Grizz games. Bonzi (B) - my beloved Bonzi because he's a competitor. no more donut jokes. Bonzi is a difference maker in playoffs. Yao (A-) - plays hard at both ends. but I really hope Yao can be more physical at the defensive end. T-Mac (A-) - the Rockets need him. He may be a little fragile but he's our best player. The Rockets wont rock without him. I really dont agree T-Mac's pressence deters ball movements. I can only see the Rockets offense gets better when T-Mac comes back. Brooks (B+) - nice pick. he really helps the Rockets to push the ball. Landry (B) - energy, hustle, hard worker. Adelman + assistants (B) - I trust his stuffs. One offense genius with 2 defensive assistants (Dunn & Turner). I never have a doubt the Rockets will go forward in strides in playoffs. Adelman coaches whatever players he gets and makes it easy for everybody in offense. When the Rockets start rolling in January, the fans will scream "Adelman rocks!".
Rafer C- average rafer. Mike James F way below expected. Francis F " Tmac D D is for disappointing. Yao C you can do better. Bonzi B- contract year :\ Scola B shown some pretty good flashes Brooks Incomplete...needs more PT Hayes B Battier B- inconsistent, but improving lately Head T T is for Traded Adelman F is for failure. Get to the playoffs or pack your bags. You have enough talent, no more excuses. Morey B+ alot of moves didn't pan out, but Scola and Brooks are promising Les F way to let your pride get in the way of having a winning franchise.
Rafer C+ We have seen how bad things can be without him, but we are unlikely to win anything if he is higher than the 5th scoring option while he is on the court. Mike James F way below expected. Francis F Has shown why his last two lottery teams didn't want him.Tmac C+ Our best player, but can't lead the team to even a .500 record, or past the first round, much less contend for a title. His play when healthy has often been great, but too many times he has not been healthy. When none of your role players can hit a shot that doesn't help either.Yao C+ As the second star of the team he can't have games where opposing teams basicly shut him out by fronting him. Shaq or Hakeem could carry a team to victory, but Yao rarely can carry a team to a win without Tmac.Bonzi C Like most of the team, inconsistent.Scola C+ Some good games, and others where he has zero defense and goes 1 for 4 making Hayes a better option.Brooks Incomplete...needs more PTHayes C High effort, but he just lacks so much offensively. He probably deserves an A as far as what he gives compared to his potential, but his maximum potential just isn't that high. We could win with either Hayes, or Rafer as starters, but we are hard pressed to win with both in the starting line up.Battier C- Bad offensive start to the season, but shooting has been picking up lately. Defense has been solid, but having 3 starters who don't average double digits is a major problem.Head D+ Has looked better recently, but started the season off shooting bad and his defense is still a problem. Adelman F The team is below .500 and while there have been some injuries, there have been plenty of games with a completely healthy roster where the team was just horrible. Bottom line the team deserves an F so the coach gets an F. Morey B- Like most fans, he misjudged the value of many of his pick ups. Still he did about as much as could be expected given cap retraints. His next move could be his biggest if there is a major trade in the works.Les D Assumed that JVG was under achieving, when so far it looks like he was actually over achieving with less talent than this team has.
Well to be fair we are the only team in the league with only 2 players averaging double figures in scoring. Alot easier to limit a great player if none of the supporting cast is making any shots with any consistency.
