It was good to see players who wanted to be out there tonight.

    Good news:

Finally, some signs of chemistry. Lots of ball movement, lots of passing and lots of open shots as a result.

Aaron Brooks looked really, really good. Luis Scola and Shane Battier finally showed what they're capable of. Battier saw a lot of work in the low post in the first half instead of hanging out at the three point line and it really paid off. Kudos to Adelman for some original and canny playmaking. This isn't the first time the Rockets have played Battier in the low post so clearly this is something that intrigues the coach.

As for Scola, how can you not love the way this guy plays? He's always the last one to give up on a play and he plays with a ton of heart and determination. He's going to be a big contributor--the only thing that's been holding him back is the normal learning curve for a rookie in the NBA.

Yao stepped up big in T-Mac's absence, despite being hampered by foul trouble brought on I think by overeagerness.

    Bad news:

Magic said the offense looked better with only one superstar on the floor. This only seems to confirm that. Hopefully T-Mac, when he gets back, will be committed to working within the system and trusting his teammates.

Some of the writers at the Chronicle have suggested that Scola really shines only when T-Mac is out. Again, this game seems to confirm that. The rest of the season boils down to whether or not T-Mac can commit to Adelman's offense. He needs to look to pass to open shooters, to involve his teammates and to trust them, and to not fall back into bad habits like taking contested jumpers early in the shot clock without letting the rest of the team get their touches. T-Mac is the key here--the Rockets have a much better record this season when he gets five or more assists. If he doesn't buy into the system kiss any hope of the playoffs good-bye.

I agree. Granted only one game against a bad team but Scola and Brooks showed me their could be reason to be optimistic about our future.

Everyone plays well, Scola and Brooks are going to be better. Head still does some stupid things occasionlly, otherwise, the team looks better even without Tmac.

Toronto didn't have TJ Ford, their starting PG and the game was in SA.

Barry is a reserve that plays under 20 min per game.

Plus, all I sais was the Spurs lost. That is a fact.

We beat a terrible team who's players don't care and a coach who's in over his head. This is exactly what I expected to happen. Check page 2 of the game thread. Consider this like a repeat of the Bulls game.

Yes, Brooks over Alstone.Start AB and Scola, change Shaine to replace TM.
The start lineup will suitable for A coach system.

Actually, the Raptors were missing their starting PG (Ford) and starting C (Nesterovic).

    The game was in SA.

    The Raptors beat the Spurs.

Six in a row for me (almost 7). I wish the Rockets could pull of 6 in a row....

    Toronto L (embarassing)
Philadelphia L (hideous; Yao calls the team soft after this)
Detriot W (predicted L and we deserved an L)
Dallas L (predicted L; terrible loss at home)
Orlando L (predicted L; like Detroit game, FTs and layups were horrible again)
Denver L (predicted L; tough loss, make FTs and we win; however, ...)
Chicago W (predicted W; bench played remarkably well; AB wins his job?)
Detroit L (predicted L; Detroit just toyed with us all game)
Memphis W (predicted W; solid win the 6 in double figures)
    ============================
    Toronto L
    Golden State L
    Boston L
    Orlando L

    (14-19)

oh dang. scola and brooks played phenomenal!
i cant help but think that this team is much better without tmac
the chronicle needs to stop bragging about head- cause he always seems to think he can play tmac ball after it
lets package tmac, head, snyder, james, francis and get some more pieces to the puzzle!

    - oh and i really love how brooks took rafer to school on the art of teardrop with 30 seconds left :)

Kobe's line in the 1st quarter against the Jazz:

    13 pts, 6 ast, 2 reb

That is like an average game for many starting PGs in the league.
