Does anyone know how to make it grab an IP addy from a Linksys router using Wep?

It shows it as connected but it is not picking up the IP, and sure seems slow for Hi speed...

I think it is defaulting to edge.

Can you use a hacked phone with another provider, like Sprint or Verizon? I recall some article about some kid hacking it or something....

Well I'm using T-Mobile right now. You can't use Sprint, but I think you can use Verizon.

 

Verizon and Sprint are CDMA carriers and thus cannot be used with the iPhone. No SIM = no dice.

Is there a box with an "E" in it at the top left? If so, then yeah, it's on EDGE. If it shows the wi-fi symbol, than it's on wi-fi.

What is the key index of your router? If it's anything other than "1", than the iPhone won't connect to it. Annoying, I know.

I can't believe I'm admitting this, but the iPhone really has changed my life. I didn't even want one, but I had a falling out with t-mobile when my blackberry died. The effect that iPhone has had on me is amazing. My productivity has gone through the roof, and I find myself being more organized than ever before. Women.....and I mean BEAUTIFUL women are constantly approaching me to talk about the iPhone, and it has done wonders for my self esteem. In fact, I've started going back to the gym, and I swear I've lost over ten pounds in two weeks. I've closed three separate deals (BIG ONES) that I never thought I even had a chance at, and they all had one thing in common: while waiting for the last one or two people to show up at a meeting, the available people would see my iPhone and a conversation would ensue. This sounds crazy, but when I would show people what it does, it seems like they would treat me like some kind of diety. Maybe I'm just being weird, but I must have been able to muster something I didn't know I had to close those deals. And this is the craziest thing of all......I said I've lost at least ten pounds, but it feels like so much more. As my belly has shrunk, I swear my penis has gotten bigger. It's not just because I can see more of it now........it's REALLY bigger! All because of the iPhone.

Yes it does. Make sure you have itunes 7.5 and update your firmware for your iphone.

 

It's the location where a specific key is stored for WEP. Usually you'll see a drop-down menu for it in your router settings. Apple products, for some reason, only use the "1" index, I believe. (The iPhone has no key index setting, anyway.) This is annoying for me, because my workplace changes the wi-fi password every so often, and sometimes they actually change the key index to "2", which means I can't connect with my iPhone.
