Exactly. There is no way we would get anything other than the short end of the stick by trading McGrady.

The grass is always greener as the saying goes. Also certain flaws are more obvious when you watch someone play every time they step on the court vs. highlights of players on other teams.

Bottom line, we just need to start winning, and all the trade "X!" will disappear.

Ive been on the trade machine and gone a little happy on it! :p

So, before we split up Tracy and Yao, among the other trades that I have shown will work dollar wise and seem to be good trades for both or all teams involved, here is my latest block buster that contains a four team 20 player trade!

This Trade Succeeded! Go back to adjust your trade or start over.

    New York Knicks

    Incoming Players
    James Posey
    Salary: $3,206,000 Years Remaining: 1
    PTS: 7.3 REB: 4.1 AST: 1.0 PER: 13.19

    Alexander Johnson
    Salary: $770,610 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 2.2 REB: 1.0 AST: 0.2 PER: 11.00

    Jason Williams
    Salary: $8,937,500 Years Remaining: 1
    PTS: 8.7 REB: 2.3 AST: 5.4 PER: 12.00

    Kirk Snyder
    Salary: $2,358,433 Years Remaining: 1
    PTS: 4.0 REB: 1.5 AST: 1.0 PER: 15.18

    Tony Allen
    Salary: $1,868,141 Years Remaining: 1
    PTS: 4.7 REB: 2.2 AST: 1.4 PER: 9.08

    Mike James
    Salary: $5,826,893 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 7.6 REB: 1.7 AST: 1.8 PER: 11.21

Outgoing Players: Mardy Collins, Jared Jeffries, Quentin Richardson, Eddy Curry

The Knicks do this deal just to free up some money, even though they can afford not to. But they get rid of several multi-year contracts and end up with mostly 1 year contracts and a couple of 2 year contracts. The players they get in return are gonna help them run more to offer a better product to put on the floor. What they have now is not working no matter what, so getting some expiring contracts in along with some players that they can put on the floor to run with the ball also, gives them an opportunity to make some moves in the upcoming years. They are going no where this year no matter what. And long contracts have continued to be their biggest problem, along with coaching and management that are making those decisions.

    Boston Celtics

    Incoming Players
    Rafer Alston
    Salary: $4,550,000 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 9.3 REB: 3.2 AST: 5.0 PER: 11.97

    Eddy Curry
    Salary: $8,947,543 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 13.7 REB: 5.0 AST: 0.6 PER: 15.29

    Luther Head
    Salary: $1,122,000 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 5.9 REB: 1.6 AST: 1.4 PER: 12.52

Outgoing Players: Kendrick Perkins, James Posey, Brian Scalabrine, Tony Allen, Eddie House

Boston will do this deal because while they lose some defense in Posey, although they are also losing their starting center, they are gaining Eddie Curry as their new starting center. They get Rafer to run their offense, whether they decide to start him or not over Rondo is anyone's guess. But off the bench to get it up the court and pass to their 3 stars unselfishly, who else would be better. Then they get Luther that will give them even more fire power off the bench at the one or two from 3 pt range.

They become the favorites to win it all actually with this trade.

    Miami Heat

    Incoming Players

    Chuck Hayes
    Salary: $1,750,000 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 3.3 REB: 6.3 AST: 1.0 PER: 12.09

    Shane Battier
    Salary: $5,883,600 Years Remaining: 4
    PTS: 8.3 REB: 4.6 AST: 1.5 PER: 9.99

    Mardy Collins
    Salary: $967,320 Years Remaining: 2
    PTS: 1.5 REB: 1.3 AST: 1.1 PER: -0.16

    Jared Jeffries
    Salary: $5,632,200 Years Remaining: 4
    PTS: 2.7 REB: 3.1 AST: 0.7 PER: 6.72

    Quentin Richardson
    Salary: $8,105,500 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 7.3 REB: 5.9 AST: 1.6 PER: 7.25

    Steve Novak
    Salary: $687,456 Years Remaining: 1

Outgoing Players: Alexander Johnson, Ricky Davis, Jason Williams, Udonis Haslem

Miami does it because they need to do something. To me, they get the least out the deal, but they get rid of J. Williams' contract; they were gonna lose Ricky D. anyway, so they get something now for him; they were shopping Udonis anyway....and Johnson is no big deal to lose.

In return, they get some strong defenders in Battier and Hayes. They get some 3 point shooting with Battier, Novak and Q. Richardson, who could return to form working with D. Wade and provide them what Ricky Davis doesn't. Im sure they can find some use for Marty Collins and Jared J. as well.

    Houston Rockets

    Incoming Players

    Kendrick Perkins
    Salary: $4,480,912 Years Remaining: 4
    PTS: 6.9 REB: 5.3 AST: 1.0 PER: 12.20

    Ricky Davis
    Salary: $6,819,000 Years Remaining: 1
    PTS: 14.9 REB: 4.2 AST: 2.5 PER: 12.46

    Brian Scalabrine
    Salary: $3,000,000 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 2.1 REB: 1.5 AST: 0.9 PER: 5.07

    Eddie House
    Salary: $1,500,000 Years Remaining: 1
    PTS: 8.0 REB: 2.2 AST: 1.7 PER: 15.17

    Udonis Haslem
    Salary: $6,050,000 Years Remaining: 3
    PTS: 13.1 REB: 9.4 AST: 1.5 PER: 13.58

Outgoing Players: Chuck Hayes, Shane Battier, Rafer Alston, Steve Novak, Kirk Snyder, Mike James, Luther Head

The Rockets do it because we get a proven third scorer in Ricky Davis. Him and Tmac will make it more difficult on opposing teams than Tmac and Battier at that position. Also, we upgrade our four position with Udonis/Scola vs Hayes/Scola. Also, we get the higher percentage shooter in the PG position with House coming off the bench as a spark. We also get a legit back up center for Yao with Perkins who was starting for Boston. Scalabrine is a throw in and we use him if we can.

    New starting lineup:

AB, Tmac, Ricky D, Haslem, Yao

    Bench:

    House, Francis, Bonzi, Scola, Perkins

A much better team IMHO..and we keep Yao and Tmac together! :D

Get on the phones Morey!

    Any comments? ;)

Give Yao and team some time, I think Yao can carry the team. Tmac is not good guy, I have seen for past years that Tmac's injuries are weird. He is wise guy, knowing when is the best time to quit games and when came back in order to prove that He can carry the team, not Yao.

thats a funny statement Yao carry the team. Thats why the Rockets have the record they do when Tmac is not playing. Yao gets dominated by people 6 inches shorter than him. He can easily get taken out of a game if you just front him who else are you gonna turn to for points if Tmac is playing?

You may be right about that he hasnt really carried the team to win that much. When someone fronted him, he usually got doubled. The key to solve this problem is 1. how we get the ball keep moving; 2. how we got those open shots done. When other players are not making the shots while Yao got doubled, it's too easy for the other team to kill Yao on the court.

The thing I like most about Yao is he does have a passionate winning heart. He always did his best and trusted his teammates which he did state in front of the media. I never saw he was smiling after piles of losses but not for James and XXX.

Those played hard and fully committed should get my salute

Sorry but topic creator is a joke. T-mac only displays heart when everything is going smoothly. When the going gets rough, he becomes disinterested and noncaring. Orlando 03-04, Rockets 07-08.

your signature rocks... this post not so much...

    stop blaming tmac.

objective evidence [ as provided by mr. david hardisty] indicates, rockets' records without tmac is atrocious.

    tmac know what he's doing.

I support keeping Tmac as well. He and rest of the rockets are soft. Always have been. It makes more sense to get a motivator to lead the team than to systematically replace all the softies - at which point we'd only have Chuck Hayes and Deke on the team. The Rockets need a strong-man type coach, not a "player's" coach who just sits back, rubs his temples and furrows his brow in confusion while his team collapses around him.

I will respectfully disagree with you, sir. Rememeber T-Mac's magnificent game against the Spurs when he scored 13 points in 35 seconds? :)

Tmac has great heart and has responsibility?? Either you are being sarcastic or you haven't been watching the games this season. I'm thinking its the latter.

That only proves how soft he is. With so much talent as he has, he was never able to pass the first round, even when his team to win a playoff series.

He can lead you win a lot of games, but history has proven that he can't lead you win playoff series.

13 pts in 35 sec shows you how much talent he has. With this much talent and still this soft in playoff at crunch time? Hopeless.

Say what you want about t-mac, but he's still our best player and without him (trade him or with injuries) you can forget about any chance of advancing to the second round.

I agree that there is little or no hope to advance to second round if he is on the bench.

But if we can get a good trade for a solid one, there are chances that we can advance.

ah we are use to not getting to the second round with him, it will be no different, only this time no false expectations.

On a serious note, "best player" can be debated, but I get your point. Hey, if he's ready to start playing within the system and on both sides of the ball, then we are a scary team. lets hope for that!

stupid mind and absurd argument. i don't want put any comment after such nonsensical arguments.

but i cant help doing that:
    he play himself,
    he is not a shooter,
he would never make others better like in Magic,
no chemistry with his teammates at all.

these are not deathblow. the truth behind that is [ our other players are not involved in the offense when the loser holding the ball for most of the time on the court!
