My 8 man rotation with $700,000 to spare.

    Chauncey Billups @ 10.0 mil
    Lindsey Hunter @ 2.3 mil
    Tracy McGrady @ 18.0 mil
    Kelenna Azuibuike @ 687k
    Bruce Bowen @ 4.1 mil
    Udonis Haslem @ 6.1 mil
    Brian Skinner @ 1.1 mil
    Yao Ming @ 14.0 mil

Can't do much better than adding 3 championship starters and one championship backup.

Taking Steve Nash is cheating because he would never be available. But the Rockets had every opportunity to draft prince and Mcdyess was given away for salary space as well as Blake. Artest was the only starter attainable. And with your team Yao has to play 48 minutes or Hayes will have to play center.

Still considering you followed his rules I do like that starting lineup. I never checked Nash because I thought he was a max player earning 15+ mil.

I love the starting line up. Not much of a bench though.

Some rather important ones (Warrick, Gibson). Besides, I think my team at the top of this page would pretty much own. They've got championship experience, leadership, scoring, 3 point shooting, defense, and a dash of athleticism (McGrady, 'Buike, Haslem). The starting line up has 3 legit scorers and 2 great role players, and the bench features a great backup PG, an athletic scorer, and a big serviceable PF/C.

Now I'm going to look at the Rockets real roster and cry myself to sleep.

This is what I would hope for in the next off season

    PG Brooks Alston
    SG Redd, Wells
    SmF Yi, Landry
    PF Scola, Chuck
    C Yao, Okur
TRADE T Mac and Battier to the Bucks for Redd and Yi
James and Head trade and draft pick[12th)to the Jazz for Okur. :p

Just a warning, Redd also loves to chuck in the 4th quarter, and Bucks will never trade Yi.

Make it harder........ do 12 players under 60 million. If you do 8 players at 57 million, one injury to a key player really hurts.

    Code:
    C	Yao Ming	14
    PF	Chuck Hayes	1.75
    SF	James Posey	3.2
    SG	Tracy McGrady	18
    PG	Anthony Carter	1.1

    C	Brian Skinner	1.1
    PF	Carlos Boozer	11.6
    SF	Grant Hill	1.83
    SG	Bonzi Wells	2.3
    PG	Beno Udrih	0.76

    F/C	Melvin Ely	0.9
    G/F Kelenna Azubuike 0.69

    	Total	57.23

    C	Yao Ming	14
    PF	Chuck Hayes	1.75
    SF	Tayshaun Prince	8.7
    SG	Tracy McGrady	18
    PG	Chris Duhon	3.24

    C	Brian Skinner	1.1
    PF	Brandon Bass	0.77
    SF	Gerald Wallace	7.5
    SG	Bonzi Wells	2.3
    PG	Anthony Carter	1.1

    G Beno Udrih	0.76
    G/F Kelenna Azubuike 0.69

    	Total	59.91

    C	Yao Ming	14
    PF	Chuck Hayes	1.75
    SF	James Posey	3.2
    SG	Tracy McGrady	18
    PG	Chris Duhon	3.24

    C	Brian Skinner	1.1
    PF	Carlos Boozer	11.6
    SF	Grant Hill	1.83
    SG	Bonzi Wells	2.3
    PG	Beno Udrih	0.76

    F/C	Melvin Ely	0.9

It was fun for a while to do the above, then it became depressing after seeing players that have either passed through the Rockets organization or could have been drafted by the Rockets.

OK, now try doing the same thing with all Euro players (minus McGrady I guess, and Yao is ok).

    Enjoy.

WE gotta by strict about this.

    1. Have to fully cost out the contracts, no "rounding down"

    2. No rookie contracts even 2nd round picks like Kelenna Azuibuike.

    3. Have to have the minimum 12 roster spots fully filled.

The salary cap this year is actually $55,630,000

Yao and tracy make $32,776,962 combined, that actually leaves $22,853,038 for only 10 players, so each player on average can only be paid $2,853,038.

I dare anyone to beat my roster following the rules.

    C Yao Ming $13,762,775
    PF Chris Wilcox 6,500,000
    SF Grant Hill $1,830,000
    SG Tracy Mcgrady $19,014,187
    PG Jose Calderon 2,471,604
    C Frabricio Oberto 3,600,000
    PF Brandon Bass $770,610
    SF Bonzi Wells 2,284,200
    SG Eddie House 1,500,000
    PG Beno Udrih $761,544
    B Brian skinner 1,103,225
    B Ime Udoka 1,000,000
    $54,598,145

On NBA, i started a new franchise and started with a team i made on my own.

    C - Al Jefferson (2.4)
    PF - D Howard (6.06)
    SF - Rudy Gay (2.4)
    SG - Joe Johnson (13.4)
    PG - Chris Paul (3.6)

    BENCH

    C - LeMarcus Aldridge (4.3)
    PF - Al Horford (3.7)
    SF - David West (10.6)
    SG - Brandon Roy (2.8)
PG - Mike Conley Jr (3.3)

I started with 'the future' of the NBA so to speak... All young players who've showed exceptional talent. I chose Johnson as a 'go to' guy as there really wasn't a stand out on the roster.

Simulating a season i finished 43-39 and the 8th spot in the West (i randomly selected the Hornets as my franchise)

It was surprising to see Chris Paul was second in scoring to Johnson at 22.7 ppg with Howard only averaging 13.

I simulated the first 3 games against the Spurs and quickly went down 3-0 but played and won the remaining 4 (with a 54, 21 rebound effort from Howard). That trend continued to the Finals (losing first 3 - winning in 7) until i played the Pistons where i won the first 2 than lost next 3 than won remaining 2 on my own.

Simulated the second season with this team - and finished with the 2nd best record in the West with a 64-18 record.

Needless to say - i think New Orleans will hold the next - 8 or so championships :D

I don't really know why i even wrote this but it is entertaining to mix up and try different things with franchises and play with people you're not used to playing with..

So my team is worth $52.56 million...
I know i cheated... But it was worth the dynasty and numerous championships it created :D
