good starting pt tinman, throw a paint job for my jefferson bobblehead and krstic and marcus williams bobblehead and we may be onto something
I know exactly what you are talking about I have a Mcgrady bobblehead. The problem is in the head. If you put to much stress on the head the whole bobblehead starts to fall apart. They need to tighten up the head. It should have been recalled but the manufacturer doesn't want to admit it made a mistake. You can try to fix it yourself but it's doubtful you'll ever get it right. My best suggesting is you admit that you have a defective bobblehead and try to trade it before it gets worst and has no value. Oh and don't expect to get fair market value for it. I remember when I first got my McGrady bobblehead and everyone would have given anything for it. There were only a handful of bobbleheads of equal value. Now you'll be lucky to get Ben Wallace and Gordon for him.
I have been told by a lot of uninformed bobblehead owners that it depends on where the bobblehead was purchased. Some seem to think that if it was purchased in Houston, Orlando, or Toronto that it might not have the right support, which is why it keeps falling apart certain times of the year. Personally, I think a good bobblehead should be able to stand on its own. You have two choices. You could purchase extra strings, and get some smoke and mirrors, or you could sell it on eBay. There are better bobbleheads out there that would at least last until June.
I was having a similar problem with my bobble heads. Whenever I put my T-Mac and Kobes together, the Tracy started to crack and the paint would chip around the back. So naturally, Kobe started to be my favorite. I took the Tracy to a figurine repair shop in Waco and got this wonder glue to keep his back together. Everything was going fine. I started to like my T-mac bobble head again. I found an old Stevie sweatband on ebay and a Rick Adelman signed ball. When I dsiplayed them with the rest of my Rockets stuff, Tracy just fell apart. The springs in his head just stopped working. It was like they just quit on him. Another problem I have been having is regarding my Yao 12" Mcfarlane. For some reason the ball just will not stay in his hands. The grooves must be worn out or something.
As clever and creative as this thread is, it is just another redundant trade T-Mac thread. Does it really need it's own thread?
I got one also, damn thing! I'd tried using super glue, but guess what it didn't work. I tried calling the repair man but no one wants to take the job, go figure.
The werid thing is I got one with a duck bill on it and it works just find, it just sits there on the shelve with no movement at all.
Did u try taking the diamond earrings off? Those things are like 5 karats each and the dang things threw his head out of balance as soon as they got added to the Orlando version, I think it was
I cannot comment because I could not get a TMac bobblehead, had to be one of the first 5000 fans. They should actually give it to the last 5000 fans to leave.
Last time I heard Jeff Van Gundy has handy tool to fix the problems with your McGrady McGrady bobblehead ... Give him a call!
