hey guys this thread is to explore different rotations that will help with the double teams on yao and mcgrady and also when the offense is stagnant and we are not knocking down shots... this is not necessarily a thread on changing the starting lineup but rather seeing different lineups over an extended period of time... if this type of thread is being discussed elsewhere .... go ahead and lock it up Personally, I would like to see a AB/HEAD/TMAC/SCOLA/YAO lineup more often, I know Mcgrady hasn't been completely healthy, but I feel this lineup will help maximize our offense...with this lineup there is a dual three point threat excluding tmac... it will make it difficult for teams to double on yao and tmac and with brooks ability to penetrate and dish it will help us with spacing the floor... this lineup also doesnt have to be necessarily our starting lineup but i would like to see all these guys on the court together... we will have a true pg with the ability to penetrate, distribute, and shoot, a 2 guard that can nail the 3 ball, tmac at his natural position, a pf with post up skills and the ability to knock the 15 footer, and of course big yao in the middle. what do you guys think....
I want to see tmac play only in the 4 quarter only since without tmac we're struggling to finish, and letting him play long minutes increase the chances in injuring him.
my combination would be AB / Bonzi / Battier / Scola / Yao I wouldnt stick Francis in there, he hasnt done jack really all season
Alston/HEAD/TMAC/SCOLA/YAO AB flared up recently. That is true but IMO it is still early to let him play a role of lineup. He did make a couple of shots and has a surprising ability of penetration. But a good pg also needs to guard the ball and makes the whole team cohesively. Is Alston doing a better job? How about the ability of shooting 3pts Secondly, the change to PG is also determined by who we are playing against. At least, that is our team's current situation to make a rotation of PG position whiich is quite not like other teams.
Brooks is still too raw to be on the floor for long with Head. I think having a rookie (who has not played much at all) and Head on the court at the same time will equal a LOT of turnovers. That is unless Brooks develops quickly and can become as dependable as Rafer when it comes to getting the ball up the court. I'm getting to the point where I think Bonzi should get Shane's place in the starting lineup. Bonzi seems to be motivated to play some defense and with him Yao and Chuck on the court this team should be gobbling up rebounds on both sides of the floor.
Until Steve is ready to contribute for 30 plus minutes, I would like to see my starting lineup minus him with AB replacing him getting the majority of the minutes. That still gives us a big lineup overall. With Tmac out, I would like to see Battier stay in the starting lineup, but with less minutes. I think we should play Yao less minutes and definitely stop playing him the entire first quarter and then almost half way into the second before getting his first breather. I think we should be playing 10 players, and keeping everyone's minutes down to under 8 at a time; unless one person is just on fire. Off our bench while Tmac is out, we should be using Steve, Wafer, Chuck, Luther and Deke when necessary on bigger slower centers. That's with our starting lineup being: AB, Bonzi, Battier, Scola and Yao. To me, Snyder doesn't fit this team anymore, whether it is because of lack of playing time or not fitting the system I don't know; but he should be on the trading block. When Tmac is back, we take Battier out of the starting lineup and take Deke out of the bench brigade. We still should have pursued Webber for a back up center to play 12-18 minutes a game behind Yao, but I hear that he may be going to Boston soon...which I don't blame him.
AB Head Bonzi Battier Scola These guys know how to play together, Adelman will hopefully use this lineup more when putting in subs.
i would actually like to see AB/SF3/Tmac/Scola/Yao. I think SF3 will play better with more shooters at the floor, where it will give him space to drive.
Brooks, Bonzi, T-Mc, Scola and Yao. Until T-Mc is healthy: Brooks, Bonzi, Battier, Scola and Yao. Subs depend on matchups.
Umm... We can't even get over .500 with the lineup that took the Jazz to 7 games. I guess putting in 2 rookies will solve that though huh?
who is going to hit outside shots? Brooks and who else? bonzi/scola/yao on the floor clogs the paint too much. i want to see more brooks/head play together they play very well together you can tell they are always on the same practice squad. brooks penetrates dishes out to an open Head to knock down the 3.
yea i agree wit a dual three point threat spacing will be key and also with the bonzi and scola and yao together the paint will be clogged so that wont really help ... and putting two rookies in meaningful minutes will help in their further development in the league
