I'm leaving this post behind for anyone out there who might end up having a laaaaaame new year's eve. I've had many myself, and they're like nothing else.

they hurt. no shame in that.

I hope you all will be somewhere tonight with someone you care about and who cares about you and that you'll have a grand old time ringing in our next calendar year. if you are lucky enough to find yourself in that situation, I hope you enjoy it. you are lucky indeed.

but in case you don't have that luck. . .

. . . I wish you an early night's peaceful rest and the safety of knowing that this night really is just one more night, no better or worse than any of the rest on the calendar.

though I do have an engagement to go to, it's nothing special. it's nothing to be romanticized by those who may not have anywhere to go tonight.

otherwise, I'd be here, keeping it real with those who, for whatever reason, will be spending their new year's eve with their computers and the clutchcity.net bbs.

I hope you find warmth somewhere tonight, whether it's from this post or elsewhere. I think everyone deserves that much.

sorry to wax so melancholy. . . new year's always brings it out of me.

I salute you, and my thoughts are with you tonight, whoever you are.

    tomorrow is another day.

    cheers, friends.

I could have gone somewhere, but I chose to stay in and read Harry Potter instead. :)

Christmas rocks, but New Year's eve is overrated.

That was a very moving post, chievous.

Being single and the type that would rather stay at home, I was lucky enough to be invited by one of my best friends to spend New Year's Eve with him and his family and some of their friends.

We had a good time, and I enjoyed getting to meet the new people.

I didn't get home until 20 after 5 this morning, and of course, I went straight to bed.

I will probably feel the "weariness" tomorrow at work.:(
