...with better hands and a better attitude (though not always showing great judgement himself). The most complete and dominant receiver in the game is.............. ............David Boston. That guy is the best in the business right now, too bad he plays on a fairly sucky team with sucky fans so he doesn't get any media love. In the spirit of Ali, he is a bad man.
I agree , David Boston has came into his own and really put up huge numbers, I have been telling people he is the Best WR in the NFC, I think Rod Smith at 100% is the best WR in the NFL.
Boston is better than Rod Smith IMO. Rod is excellent, but I think his production is inflated by his system. I am not sure if I would take him over Jimmy, TO, Harrison or Randy Moss. Boston is the 1 that really seems to have it all and is an incredible force. The Card have very little running game and no other receivers that now stand out, and teams still can't take away Boston. The next most difficult receiver to account for may actually be a TE (Gonzalez).
Cards have won 5 out of the last 7. If they can carry it over to next season and improve the D they could be playoff bound. Boston is really good, but I still think he is overrated. So are TO and Moss. I really hate Moss and Owens. I actually think anyone not on the Chicago Bears roster is overrated.
I think the Top WR's out there right now are David Boston Terrell Owens Rod Smith Jimmy Smith Keyshawn Johnson Randy Moss Isaac Bruce Troy Brown Tim Brown Torry Holt Jerry Rice Marty Booker Marcus Robinson Germane Crowell Ed McCaffrey Cris Carter
Well It was off the top of my head I knew I was missing someone . Harrison does belong in that class.
I agree that keyshawn johnson is one of the best WR's in the game. I just want to know why he gets disrespected so much? All these people in the media try to make it seem like the guy can't play. The only thing they ever compliment is his fearlessness going across the middle of the field.
He plays in an offense that either: A. Doesn't like to score. B. Doesn't know how to score. C. Simply can't score. D. All of the above. Take your pick. I agree that he is one of the best and he has the yards and receptions he just doesn't have the TD's to match the yards. That's what most people (fans and media) focus one, scoring.
Johnson is a fine player. But he isn't the break away threat or runner with the ball Boston is, and Boston is one the few guys that can also match Johnson's physical size and hands. Boston is the most dominating receiver out there. IMO, Moss or Jimmy Smith are probably next. Harrison, Holt and Bruce are all excellent because of their speed/quickness and route running, hard to seperate them. TO, Rod Smith and Johnson are probably equal to those 3 or maybe better (especially for their teams) but for different reasons. It is also really too bad Robinson got injured. He might have as many tools outside of Boston. With him the Bears would have a much needed additional threat and would be a more serious superbowl contender. As it is I just dont think they can score and will have to get Raven lucky to win (not ever having to play a really good balanced opponent where D alone can win the game). I don't know whats up with Eric Moulds. A year or two ago he was very, very tough to deal with, maybe he is still top notch just Buffalo sucks so bad he doesn't look as good. I don't think Rice, Brown, McCaeffrey, Carter, Crowell or Booker deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the others mentioned in this thread (you could add McCardell, Dyson, Ismail on the list too). This guys are quality receivers, but not in the other guys leagues IMO.
I'm a huge Boston fan too.........He attended Ohio State but does anyone know where Boston is from? Humble, TX.
Marvin Harrison has not had a typical year. I picked him up in the second round of our fantasy draft and he has sucked all year. I finally benched him and started Mason from the Titans and have had much more success. I would have drafted a running back much higher had I known he would suck so much this year.

Desert Scar I disagree , Jerry Rice and Tim brown both have put up 80 catch 1000 yard 9+ TD seasons on the same team proving they still are great WR's, and they are over 35 years old , They can still play this game and they the respect of being included in That Class, I woould not put any Baltimore WR on that list because someone has the catch the passes , Qadry Ismail isnt bad But he is just an best average WR on a team of Average WR's . Joey Galloway and Eric Moulds were good but have tapered off , These are some rising stars who I think will be Good WR's in the next 4 years Jerry Porter Marty Booker and David Terrell Peerless Price Joe Horn (He will become one of the best) Hines Ward and Plaxico Buress Lavernaus Coles Peter Warrick Germane Crowell
I forgot about Joe Horn, he is near the elite class, but I migth not put him there just yet. With another high performing year by him, Marcus Robinson or Moulds, I would put them there. I think Rice and Brown are still excellent, and 5 years ago were both among the best of the elites. But I no longer think they qualify as elite/dominant WRs. Boston, Moss, Jimmy Smith, Harrison, Bruce, TO, Holt, Rod Smith, and Johnson--those guys are all a noticable notch better than either IMO. Just compare TO and Jerry's production when they were on the same team and see which one was a greater concern of opposing defenses over the last 2 years or so, it wasn't Rice. Again, just my opinion, but Rice and Brown join Crowell, Ismail (either), McCardell, McCaffrey in the excellent but not elite class IMO. Also take it from a non-Bears fan (not anti-Bears, I usually rout for them, just in an unattached way) who has seen them a fair amount, Robinson is step above in talent over Booker and Terrel. Those guys aren't bad, but Robinson can provide another dimension to the Bears they don't have w/o him and won't until he recovers. I agree the Pittsburgh guys, Warrick, along with the Washington idiot, could join the eliter group some time.
It really makes me sick to think what the Bears would be with Robinson. He is the deep threat, open up the run threat. I mean with A-Train gaining 1,000 yds as a rookie and Marty Booker breaking the season single reception record, Robinson would make us that much better. DesertScar - Regarding your "Super Bowl Contender" remark, Bears have a first round bye. Second round game at home. I think they are in the Driver's seat and will be in the Superbowl. Hell, they are 12-0 when they score 13pts this season. 13!!! What a freaking defense. Damn I missed seeing the Bears in the playoffs. Been 7 yrs. Superbowl XXXVI champions!!!
But I don't think 13 could get it done in St Louis. Maybe versus the Rams in Soldier field on a typical late January day, but not indoors on the carpet. I do think 3 teams have a snowballs chance in St Louis, and the Bears are one of them (along with Phily and TB). To pull such an upset you need a relentless pass rush, punishing/good tackling secondary (you are not going to stop them from having receptions--but you can hit them and limit the YAC), and offense that can make enough critical plays to keep the ball for decent stretches and put up some points. TB almost did it 2 years ago, I think these 3 teams have the capability, though it isn't likely. Robinson would have really helped given the Bear's offense much needed potency, I just don't think this year is there year. Of course that is why they play the games though.
Chris Chambers a rookie for the Dolphins has looked awesome and is on the verge of big things if we can get a decent friggin QB in Miami
I am just gonna cross my fingers and hope ATL beats ST Louis Sunday, then with a Bears win Chicago gets homefield throughout the playoffs. Who is to say Philly or TB won't knock off St Louis in the second round and leave Chicago with homefield for the NFC Championship (if they beat San Fran or GB) Big If's.
