You know, this thread was started in order to list players that would perfectly fit in with the Rockets and give them that final needed piece. McDyess was listed, and a few people echoed the sentiment that we should trade for him. I don't think you can disagree that this would be in the Rockets best interest. Now, whether or not it is true that Mobley would come anywhere close to being enough to net a player of McDyess's talent (debatable), the suggestion that it might be so suddenly makes the entire thread a silly one? Perhaps alley-oop should have asked your permission before starting it, since it is so very silly.
You know, maybe it wouldn't be quite a "perfect fit" but having a Super Mario-type SF would really help right now. Someone to play tough-nosed perimeter D and hit the 3pt. shot. Hopefully we can get something along those lines and a little more from TMo when he's had more experience.
I'm surprised that no one has suggeted Duncan. I don't like him but he is a good player. I know the possibility of getting him is next to none. The question is not who can we get but rather who would we want. I like the Ratliff idea. Philly traded him do to his injury. They need a healthy center for a playoff push. Maybe we are more than one player away. It's hard to say with this season being so full of injury. I tend to look at the way we played for the second half of last season. First thought would be to get a center. Is there a center (besides Shaq) that fits this team and is good enough to make us alot better? If not what the next best option? A really good pf who we play at center or pf to complament EG. Or maybe a really good sf. This team has alot of versitilty and could look very diffrent with just adding or exchanging one player. IMO I still feel McDycee's style fits this team the best. I think he fits us better than Webber or Garnett. I also feel we don't need a big slow center. That could hurt us more than help us. Remember the question is who we want, not who we can get.
I’d take Najera, if we could get him a little more disciplined. He could play the 3, hustles like no one else in the league, blocks shots, FIGHTS for loose balls, an occasional steal, and he runs the court well. He would also get some people back in the stands. Trade away KT for him. Just my two centavos, but I really like watching Najera play. Kid is fearless. Too bad we didn't draft him when we had the chance. (or keep him at least).
next year's lottery pick and Thomas for McDyss? anyone, anyone, anyone, Buller, Buller, Buller!!!! C McDyss/Collier/Cato PF Taylor/White F Griffin/Rice/TMO G Mobley/Torres G Francis/Norris
Well, we had Najera, but we traded him for Langhi. I still think Ratliff can be had even before he comes off the il. He's 28, plays good D, has ok low post game and runs the floor very well. Of course the past 2 yrs injuries have been an issue with him. If they can drop Cato and Thomas for Ratliff and a protected pick in a couple of yrs, I would do it. We might struggle with Collier and Willis at center until he comes back, but we'll get a look at Collier and we'll free up time for Eddie which I think is looking at the big picture. By no means is the season over, but we have to be realistic and see how are we going to be able to compete in the west for the playoffs for the next couple of yrs.
[sarcasm] hey yeah...this is a really good deal. i mean it is so great of a deal that i cannot possibly put into words how great it actually is. wow i like this deal so very much. oh yes i do. what a good good deal. [/sarcasm]
you said sarcasm....uh, uh, uh, uh.... okay, okay...we'll throw in Langhi too, but you are not getting Cato damn it!
For goodness sake man, give him Cato. If it will help us get McDyess, even in this crazy dreamt up BBS world, then give him Cato.
smart man. listen to him. we need a 'true center'. cato gets it done. if you really want dice, you have to give up quality to get quality.
why do you think that everyone here is from US? If you read your post, your grammer is not all that great either. Open your eyes.. www stands for WorldWideWeb... not everyone speaks english as a first language here.
