there is so much negativity out there about so many things, its easy to stay focused on what is wrong vs. what is right. we are 12-12...so what! i still love hoop season, i still get pumped about the rockets and the next game. i dont know nearly as much about basketball as the rocket brass or coaches, but i love talking and debating and sometimes arguing about my favorite team. no one season, one game, one player can take away my love for this team and for the season. i want to watch every play of every game and i remain hopeful that we win 55 and go all the way. that is enough pontificating...i just feel strongly that we should admit that we can love a season even when its not going so great right now...go rockets, coach adelman, tmac, yao and the rest of the team
me too i'll believe till the end of this season and at the start of next season,i'll still be here.like you denniscd i want to see every single second of rockets basketball.i can't wait for the next game and the next and the next.those who are fed up with this team can turn their laptops or tv off.we will win the title this year.but i say this every year cause every year i really believe that we can win it
Adversity will introduce this team to themselves My hope, is that they will wake up and play the way we BELIEVE they can
Im jumping on the positivety bandwagon as well lol jk..but seriously, this is ridiculous, im tired of getting on the BBS and reading all the negativety...i really get depressed when the rockets looose and come to this site..i just avoid it after losses. I hope we pick it up, i really feel like we will...Even if we go 47-35 with a possible 5 or 6 seed i still believe we can go deep in the playoffs...hopefully everything will be meshing by then... REMEMBER: 95 champs were the 6th seed
I rarely actually click on threads in the game action and roster moves forum, but if it's denniscd he usually has some insider information! But hey you are right, sometimes I still get that euphoria of watching a Rockets game every now and then.
denniscd; any insider perspective from the rockets organization on what they are thinking by allowing t-mac to continue on w/o an MRI? That's a pretty big investment to take so lightly
I have actually been having a basketball crisis of faith (that happens when both your teams are playing under .500 ball) but I read this great post on a UK website that reminded me that the bad is just as important to being a fan as the good. If I hadn't had to sit with my dad suffering through Eddie Sutton's Wildcats as a kid, then having them win a championship when I got to college wouldn't have tasted half as sweet. I actually put part of the post as a quote in my sig a few days ago. When you live and die with a team, it's inevitable that there will be some dying along the way, but you still have to live the experience to its fullest.
denniscd, i'm with rocketshopeful. is there any info on t-mac's injury, real , fake , etc that you can shed some light on?
I'm still hopeful and haven't given up as a Rockets fan, but it surely it's very hard to understand what's going on w/ the team.
u r right, we argue because we love this team, we want everything goes right. we'll be happy if rox wins, we'll also be upset if rox loses, but our love is eternal.
My only thought process is that this HAS to be the worst we can be. And if are a .500 team at our WORST, then we have good days ahead. I just don't know when those good days are.
Absorbing RA's offense, decisions made about who is getting dealt and the effects of this on those involved in the meantime,a brutal schedule. ....just a few of the many positives in all this crying. The Rockets will be there late this year one way or another.Les will make the big deal if it's smart. We'll be peaking with a nice rotation late.Right now it's kinda mindless and heartless play.
Dennis, I'd love to share your attitude. You're a better fan than I am. What's killing me is that the people I'm losing confidence in now are at the top of the organization, not the bottom. I can make no sense of what Adelman is doing out there. We had a team that earned home court and went 7 games in the first round, and our owner reportedly decided that the coach was lowering the value of his franchise. So what does he do? Hires a new coach who takes the same players, plus Scola, James, Francis, Brooks, and half a Bonzi -- with everybody healthier than last year -- and puts us on track to miss the playoffs altogether. The players look like they don't believe in the system. The coach seems unable or unwilling to make them believe in it. He explains nothing to us, the fans. Not that that's necessary, but it leaves us with no evidence of his current competence, based on performance this season. What does Les Alexander think his franchise is worth now? I understand all the beefs with various players. But they're the same players, and then some. I could appreciate this season if we were coming out of the lottery or if we had significant injuries. But how do I explain this level of performance, compared to last year, with a stronger roster? How do you explain it?
