This is the most pathetic performance I've seen this year. The Lakers are missing Shaq, Kobe is playing injured, and the Lakers all but handed them the game. However, they cannot hit a layup, an open 15 footer, and they don't give the ball to their best player. Let's go over some things: 1. Without Shaq, Kobe is the Lakers only option. Why the **** won't anyone double him? I'd sure rather see the Lakers putting up a rushed 3 than Kobe shooting an almost uncontested 12 foot turnaround. 2. Does anyone remember the Finals? When Robert Horry won game 3 when they left him wide open? Well, apparently they don't, because they easily let him sit and think about the shot for literally five seconds, and never send one man out at him. 3. Does anyone remember that Allen Iverson is the MVP? Might want to let him shoot once in a while, even if it's a below average shot. It's fairly apparent that Snow can't make a 15 footer to save his life, and Mutombo can't make a layup. The Rockets, in the midst of their 15 game losing streak, probably could've handled this team with ease. I've never seen anything so embarassing in my life.
The Sixers presented the Lakers with a Christmas gift. That was a pitiful choke job. The Sixers are done. They aren't even playoff material. They ruined that team in the offseason.
it is true that the sixers sucked total ass in that last quarter. What I don't like is how nbc had to remind us how kobe was hurt every single minute and that shaq was out. Kobe did a fine acting job. Grimacing, what a p***y. He did it every time a camera was on him. Last year during the playoffs and finals they totally downplayed how badly hurt the sixers were. No one made a huge fuss on how messed up iverson was or the rest of the sixers for that matter. I cant stand nbc at all i am glad espn is getting the games soon

Yea..Kobe was faking the injury. Did you see him run? It's quite obvious he's in pain...unless you're implying he played like he was injured just to convince us that he was. Clutch is clutch, and Kobe was clutch.
kobe was clutch thats for sure. I wont argue about that I was saying he wasnt injured but he let everyone in the whole world know he was injured. If he was gonna suck it up and play, Play. Dont make people feel sorry for you when you constantly hold your side etc. Worry about it after the game. Personally though kobe came through for his team I think he was embellishing his injury during the time outs and commercial breaks.
uhh? last year in the fianls, i was reminded of the Sixer's injuries EVERY SECOND. And I cheered them on for it, they were fighters. NBC didn't downplay any of their injuries, and you call out Kobe for faking it? Jeez.. we can tell you're not bias The man played hurt, and helped his team win - so he's pathetic for faking it. Wonder what you would have said had they lost.. -LTF
If I remember correctly, 23 of those shots came in the first three quarters. I know 28 is a lot for the game, but I think they should've gone to him more, not less, when the game was on the line.
Agreed. I thought Frobe's antics were rather melodramatic & self-serving...to say the least. Ummm...I was under the impression you had to actually help your team for it to be classified as "clutch". Frobe threw up so many bricks last night(6 of 19), they could have added a new section to the Staples Center.
Yea, Kobe didn't help the team at all going 4-5 in the 4th and at all times providing a constant threat (albeit imaginary for most of the game) on the floor. Clutch is just that, coming through when it counts the most, and just about everybody w/ even the slightest objectivity sees it.
That's why you have to watch the game. Stats can be deceiving. It seemed like Iverson never got a shot in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter. They kept posting up Mutombo! What's with that? I like Mutombo, and I like his defensive/rebounding game, but his offensive game is far from polished. He fumbled a pass or two and missed quite a few shots in the last few minutes.
In all fairness, I would probably give a few looks to CATO against the Shaqless Lakers. Don't they have some no-name Euro backing him up these days?
Yeah? Everybody? Just what makes you so sure of that? Odds are I can find just as many "objective" people that won't see it that way.
You're right MoonDogg. Silly of me to think making key shots in the 4th quarter and shooting 80% at that is clutch. Everybody's entitled to their own opinion I guess.
Hmmm....guess that means it's silly of me to think that the first three quarters of a game mean anything. Maybe we should only record statistical data from the 4th quarter. Of course...and my opinion is that the only thing we're going to agree on is that we disagree....
but nappy...that's what the Kobester wanted you to think. See, here's exactly what Kobe had planned for this nationally televised game: Okay, I hype up my injury with the media before the game and get them really talking about all my injury woes. Then I shoot miserably in the first three quarters and limp around pitifully and get Marv Albert really sucking my ass. Then, in the fourth period, still limping about "painfully" and clutching my ribs, I just do what I normally do and drain the jumpers. I'll make the ones that count. Ahhh...Operation Act like Mike complete.
