And none of those free agent WR's last season wanted to play for the Titans...well, except for Eric Moulds.
So, why aren't guys like Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison flocking to the Titans, if everyone in the world knew Vince was such a great QB and projected ahead of Peyton? It's not like the Titans don't have the money.
I dont know what kind of puzzles you are putting together over there in the land of OZ, but basically you are saying the O-line, backs, and recievers are not pieces? So according to your brilliant assesment, I guess this would mean that Vince Young could esentially play 1 on 11? Wow, he really is Jesus! I hope he can part the Red Sea of defenders that will be hauling balls full speed at him. Wait.... that was Moses, not Jesus.
So, what games did Vince "bail out" the Titans defense? Can you give specifics? There was one game this season where the Titans gave up 30+ points... and it was Kerry Collins who bailed them out. And now Fisher is the one who wins games? I thought it was Vince? Sorry dude -- the bottom line for teams is W's.
jmftexas, why do you bring up his subpar WR's if VY IS the puzzle. He shouldn't need good WR's much like Brady did not.
since you've now made the same mistake twice, and because you have absolutely no interest in actually engaging in the topic, preferring instead to just litter the thread with an as-yet-undiscovered depth of stupidity, i'd like to point out that there haven't been 30 teams in the NFL since 1998, which i'm guessing is the last time a thought with any relevance, insight or perspective managed to fool the inner workings of your brain and escape. i bet i could extract a sperm from the load i deposited into a tissue last night, beat it senseless, leave it in the hot sun for 43 consecutive days, and it would STILL be able to grasp what makes a team successful better than you.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=chadiha_jeffri&id=3159467 might be the first well written article in espn history, pretty unbiased in my opinion in regards to how vince is doing.
Have you watched the Titans this season. Vince's o-line is no better than the Texans but the only reason he hasn't been a frequent visitor to the infirmary next to Schaub is his mobility and durability? Everyone knows his wide receivers suck, and his rb's are no threat to take it the distance. So for everything beyond literally playing 1 on 11, he's playing 1 on 11. And the Texans game that Collins came back, that was a bizarre game. But 1, Titans settled for 8 field goals. With Vince in there, the lead wouldve escalated to 50 at one point. Seriously the Texans were playing that bad in the first half. The only bail out part was the last minute, but that game defied any logically explanation other than Fisher's a way too conservative coach at times.
Wow you are getting desperate. Vince is in his second season. Who flocked to Brady or Manning in their second season. Give it 10 years to play out and you'll see what I'm talking about (how franchises are established) But ona side note, it will be difficult to attract big time wr's to play for Fisher since he runs more than any coach in the nfl. The big time free agents will come though when the Super Bowl becomes an inevitability with Vince.
Does anybody else find it odd that jmf has been a member for 4 1/2 years and 25% of his posts have been in these two troll threads? Hmmmmm. Why in the hell hasn't this thread been Castor-ated yet?
LOL. You're praising a quarterback with nine touchdowns, 16 interceptions, mediocre rushing numbers and quarterback ratings in the 60s in his two seasons as likely being ahead of Peyton Manning down the road, and I'm the one that's desperate? Horn fans are good for a laugh.
I'm NOT arguing with myself at all. ALL players are merely pieces of the puzzle, and TEAMS win games, not individual players. To say that "Vince just wins" is incredibly misguided without considering HOW he's won. In fact, to equate a player to "wins" in general is just r****ded, no matter what the team sport. Way too big of a leap. For instance, Jerome Robertson led the Astros with 15 wins in 2003... with a 5.10 ERA. Does that mean "he just wins", too? Should we also ignore the team around him? And let's not forget about coaches. Of the coaches in the NFL with at least 50 games of experience, Fisher ranks as #10 in winning percentage at 53%. Do you reckon that has something to do with the wins? Heck, let's look at the coaches of the other players you've mentioned. Wade Phillips (Dallas) has a career 59% winning percentage, Belichick (NE) is at 61%, and Dungy (Indy) is at 66%. Once again, it's not all black and white.
Hey, some of us aren't completely blinded by the aura of VY. For me, he was out of sight out of mind the moment he left UT and even more so when he ended up with the enemy. I hope he has a nice career, and never makes the playoffs ever.
I meant in general the ones that post on the Horn Fans site. I like UT too... and I agree with you, I can't understand the denial some of these folks live in. If Vince fails at the NFL level, it does nothing to impact the amazing and incredible collegiate career he had. They're so defensive.
Since when is football a 1 man game? Put a stud QB behind a poor OL and his stats suck. Put a great DE on a team with crappy corners and no help on the DL and he is double and triple teamed until no end. Once again, I am a VY fan, but your r****ded threads make me embarrassed to share any type of beliefs consistent with yours....
