3 best qb's in nfl 1. Brady 2. P Manning 3. Romo Teams are 14-0, 12-2, 12-2 top 3 DE sack leaders 1. P Kerney 2. M Williams 3. Trent Cole Teams are 9-5, 7-7, 6-8 Anyone still think you should ever draft a de #1 overall as opposed to a potential stud qb?
It's funny you try to use Brady as your prime example. Wikipedia his bio and come back and tell me you still think he was a "potential stud" coming out of Michigan. Oh yea, do that for Tony Romo as well.
Why would you take a QB #1, if the best QB in the league was drafted in the 6th round and the third best went undrafted?
If you redrafted today who would you take #1? Kerney or Brady? That's what I thought. I'd prolly take Brady, Favre, P Manning, Romo, Brees, Palmer, Vince, and Roethlisberger over any DE.
Hindsight is 20/20 moron. If every league can have a mulligan, the Wizards wouldn't have drafted Kwame, Portland bypasses Bowie, and the Chargers take Peyton instead of Leaf. Point is: you can't predict talent and careers BEFORE the player ever takes the field/court. There's no exact science that would let you know how players will turn out. Who knew Brady would be this great? Apparently 30+ teams had 5 chances to think so and didn't. Romo? Yea, you called that one a couple of years back didn't you? I also like how you threw Vince's name in there with Super Bowl winners and quarterbacks that's led their teams to conference finals. Sorry, guy, but a college football champion can be redeemed for NFL success like Kool Aid points.
So, how about teams like: Baltimore, and Tampa Bay that have won Super Bowls without having a superstar QB, or Chicago last year reaching the super bowl with a mediocre QB. Or that Tampa Bay this year with a non-superstar QB in his team, they are their division champion. Or the texans, that they have their 2nd QB, but an a good defense, have won good games. And dont tell me that Phillip Rivers is the key of the success of the Chargers, if they trade Rivers, I dont think that their record would change a lot.
the NFL does not do a redraft. Why would you take a 500 year old Brett Favre? steddinotayto: Indy had the first pick, and selected PMann. San Diego picked second, and went with Leaf, instead of Charles Woodson. Hope they lock this thread, so you can start another one.
take a step further, can we ban this guy? It's ok to make arguments and such, but at least have some foundation...
I agree with this. No matter how much you reason with the thread starter, he ain't gonna see it. Show all the data you want about past drafts, etc but it will be a waste of time.
Oh ok, but if you re-do the draft of 2002, would you choose David Carr over Julius Peppers, or you would choose Patrick ramsey before Aaron Kampman. Two pro Bowl DE vs two mediocre QB, who do you choose???
Draft Positions: 1. 6th Round 2. 1st Round 3. Undrafted Anyone still think a QB has to be a high draft pick to be stud?
Mr. jmftexas, what you've just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Don't y'all think his stat observation is kind of interesting, though? How come the top sackers aren't leading nearly/undefeated teams?
Could we try to stop the trend of calling troll on threads? I mean yeah it has been used mostly in troll type threads but if you let this continue then it will be used in any thread people don't like.
