Just heard that Omar Cook is available. Should we pick him up. I think he could be our backup PG incase Steve goes down again. He is as talanted as Tinsley as far as a real passer, creator.

I think this would be a good idea. Cook may not pan out, but at this point, he wouldn't cost much and he really does have good skills at the 1.

Text book case of a player who made a mistake in coming out. Doesn't mean he could be useful in the future however. Then again, the Rockets are already loaded with "projects."

There is no room for him. Let's hurry up and pick him up to sit at the end of the bench.

Rudy wouldnt play him over Mooch or Tierre, so why pick him up.

It would just be a waste of a roster spot and a no good situation for Omar, imo.

You are probably right Ren....but right now as I see it our only tradeable players with value are Moochie Norris and Kenny Thomas!! I say package them in a trade for a legit center and sign a backup PG like Omar Cook!! I personally like Omar Cook....he can penetrate and dish and is also a good scorer!!!

He doesn't have NBA talent yet and is thus not worthy of a roster spot. He should've stayed in school and is now a prime candidate for the NBDL. He may be good in time, but he's nowhere near there yet.

He is not a good scorer. His jumper is highly suspect, and that's a big reason (along with his size and overall immaturity) that no NBA team has expressed serious interest in him.

Still, maybe the Rockets could use a non-shooting, pass-first point guard.

I maintain that Omar Cook can play in the NBA, but it may be a couple of years. His predecessor at St. John's, Erick Barkley, has had zero NBA impact so far.

    Are you guys crazy

I'd rather have Tierre Brown, Moochie, or even Rafer Alston over Omar Cook. He can penetrate and pass....blah blah. He has no jumper and it's not like he's Jason Kidd or anything with the passes. Tierre Brown is way better than him and Moochie is also.
Don't be so fascinated by playground ballers to think they'll be good in the L. The one exception is the abuser...tinsley

Cut Langhi and give Cook a shot.

Langhi has been warming up the bench for one and a half years, I think that means he has no NBA future.

Cook, on the other hand, has the potential to pan out in a few years.

So let me get this straight. Langhi sitting the bench for 1 1/3 seasons means he has no NBA future. But you are ready to allow Cook sit the bench for a few years to see if he pans out?

    Nice consistancy there.
