Vince had a good game today: 16-26, 191 yards passing, 32 yards rushing, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs. Glad to see him turning it around after some terrible games the past few weeks. That said, it looks like Cleveland and Jax are going to grab the 2 WC spots.
That's been going on since the beginning of the modern era. Do you think this kind of discrimination started with Mario Williams? My guess is that you have selective memory. I'm not in Houston, so I don't get the Chronicle and can't know what was written on a daily basis. I'm sure all of that was said but is that all that was said? I'm sure Mario had his doubters but not everybody ignored his injuries and the generally lousy season that the Texans had AGAIN. Glory goes to the QBs and the WRs. Live with it. Very few headlines are generated by DEs. The "decision" to stick with David Carr at QB was probably just as controversial as the decision to pick Mario Williams. The Carr decision turned out to be patently wrong. My point was that you yourself are tanking VY and RB because they are having the kind of forgettable year this year that Mario had last year-- a reaction that you resent on behalf of Mario. The Titan comeback was amazing even if that Giant DE had wrapped up VY. It just would have been a near-victory instead of a victory. VY and RB play glamor positiions. Everything is skewed in their favor because those positions make 90% of the highlights. The homerism is in your failure to recognize that this kind of unequal treatment precedes Mario Williams (linemen in an unglamorous market don't sell) and in your penchant for slamming VY and RB with the very same criteria (a down year/injury) which was used to slam Mario last year-- something you consider a high crime. I can't speak about RB but I'm a Titans fan and read a Titans board. There is plenty of criticism and regret about VY-- similar to the kind of things I've read here when the player in question was under-performing.
Best QB rating game of his career. 2nd leading rusher on his team. If he doesn't play very efficiently his team loses because the defense played poor for 3 quarters (2 touchdowns and 3 scoring drives is not a good day against that KC offense). But I am sure the haters will bring up the modest 191 passing yards instead of the 110 rating plus a few contributing rushes. Cincy can pull the upset at home this week, the Browns are not in yet.
Ok giddyup, First of all, I did NOT unfairly bash VY and RB. Yes, MW DID get unfairly tried in the court of public opinion as well as get unfair bad press before given a fair chance to prove himself. Yes, RB's and QB's usually get ALL the glory but, defense wins championships! To be fair it appears VY late in the season is developing a semblance of consistency to his game. I don't hate VY regardless of what you may think. Just don't think he's ALL THAT! He definitely HAS potential. Though at this point after 2 seasons, Mario surges ahead of VY and RB as the best pick. Probably going to the pro bowl we'll find out tomorrow! This may surprise you but, if you all get in and play Jax in the first round, I will ACTUALLY cheer for the Titans because I HATE those arrogant fags in J'Ville! I hope we kick their arrogant ASSES all the way back to North Florida in the last game of the season. Fair enough? I don't really hate the Titans, I hate Bud! If that bit ever changed well ... I could at least cheer for them and not have a desire to vomit. Good luck.
He's done it! He's surpassed Swoly to win the award for most smileys used in one thread!!! Congrats hatemavs4life!!! You're a legend!
That's true, Cincy does have an outside chance with the bad weather and all. Hopefully Roydell Williams and Justin Gage can keep playing okay. Those guys need to contribute as does Lendale.
Cincy doesn't need bad weather. Despite flip flopped 9-5, 5-9 record, the team point differences are not a lot. Browns +12 and Cincy -23 over 14 games. Cincy actually has a slightly better yardage differential, though both teams have very good offenses, and bad defenses. Cincy is much better at home (4-3, with two of those loses between NE and Pitt) than on the road (1-6--including the 51-45 shootout loss AT Clev). Cincy doesn't want to lose to their Ohio rivals twice. This game is very much a toss-up. Cincy just need to bring no less than their B game on the offensive side of the ball and they will score regularly.
