as a 7 foot 6 man with great court vision (due to his IQ as well as his height), Yao is supposed to be a crucial part of RA offense. just like King's big men back in the old days, Webber, Divac... when big men hold the ball at the high post, they are not supposed to just stand there and wait shock clock, they should direct traffic, and find the open man, that's what RA offense is. so far, I haven't seen Yao fulfilling that role really well...he is one of the reasons that the new offense doesn't work so far..
I'm really sick to see TMAC now. Now I understand why Rox is still different from Spurs/Lakers with great coach and a lot of great trades.
When Yao is in the high post, other players on the court should run but not to wait and see what Yao can do....
Hey C'MON..... I wonder whether you watch Rockets games. Did you notice Yao Ming's assist #s go up in this new season? Did you see him trying hard to find the open men? And did you see all those crispy bullet-like passes from Yao into the corners or the middle for the guards to take their 3-pointers? If his team mates had been more accurate, Big Yao could be easily averaging 3 to 4 assists per game now. And Rick Adelman's offense is all about motion, right? Where are the motion? Every Rockets are normally standing by, not moving and watching TMAC or Yao Ming doing their ISO against opponents with the rocks in their hands.
Yao is not optimistic enough as TMAC. Yao needs to be strong like a real warrior. To Yao : I know you may read this thread and I know your feeling but you are not Andrei Kirilenko. Just fight like a man.
Don't worry about that . Though there exist some YOF just like there exist some TOF , I can assure you there are much more true Rocket fans in China . We know one day YAO will retire ,but we will love ROCKET for life . Yao brought us the very different NBA games , China basketball fans keep watching the NBA game for over 20 years , first time we feel have a true home team in this league: Houston Rocket .
