I didn't ask for dissmissive sound bite attempts at humor without any thought. Different opinions are fine.

Ok, so closer to 3 mil than 2 mil the diff. But key is the difference between James and Cat's contract. I would pay 3 mil a year to have Cat over James--other's maybe not. But just looking at his 8.5 mil contract makes no more sense than saying we signed James for 5.5 mil a year and forgetting Howard being traded was a part of it. Also, the money difference is even less if Snyder or Wells or Head are in the deal--though if it were Head I'd want a pick coming back.

As for age, trading Cat for James in no way could be seen as making the roster OLDER. So comments to that effect--"no we don't want to get older" in the context of the proposed swap of these two, yes, are lazy at best.

The above post is not brainless. If others posted like that I wouldn't have a problem. Like I said I'd pay the around 3 mil year difference for Mobes instead of James--it isn't like James contract isn't going to be nearly as painfull--and I think for a much less usefull player. IMO James isn't as talented, I think on a sharper decline shooting wise, I think worse for chemistry, and less what we need. But my opinion.

Yea, I see your point completely and your making some very valid arguments. I just get worried when you have that big of a contract being paid to a player at the age. You know he is not going to be playing anywhere near the level of the contract and that just scares me. The great teams make moves that land them players who play and are piad for what they are worth. Cat is a good player but I didn't even feel he was close to being worthy of that contract when the Clippers gave it to him a couple of years ago. So, that would be my only concern.

Money aside, like I said before, Cat would be a great addition and I agree that he would be a MUCH better fit than James who seems that he can't adjust to being a third or less role player since Toronto. Of course, this was my concern when we acquired him again this offseason based on last year, but that's another story. If they made a deal for him tomorrow and wouldn't comlain. In you trade idea, I would would trade James and Head (instead of Wells) and ask for a 2nd in return as well. Mobley would basically take Head's role as the backup 2-guard who can play spot minutes at the point.

As for the opinions thing, I realized I kind of came off as kind of an a** in my response which is not what I was trying to do.
