Yes his been inspire them to wins a lot of game lately. Just wait and see how Orlando finish bad like last year.
We have players that don't fit in high motion offense. It's motion offense, guys like Yao can't run so fast so you have to adjust a little. Rockets did not manage to do that. IS THIS A DREAM?
Can we trade Rick Adelman to Utah for Jerry Sloan, he would bring some balls to this team. He would make T-Mac either MVP or a benchwarmer.
I think that this thread needs to be kept posted with the sticky. The team's pathetic fourth quarter last night vs. the Warriors pretty much epitomizes the title of this thread altogether. This Rocket team pretty much resembles that team that got blown out by the Dallas Mavericks in that Game 7 of that first round series in 2005. Right now, I feel that any team that makes a big run on the Rockets that would just bury them has absolutely nothing to worry about them answering back, especially in the fourth quarters. Instead, that other team can just be on cruise control toward the end of the game.
Wow. I certainly didn't expect to see this thread here again! Nothing has changed since I first posted this back in November though. There has been plenty of time for improvement, but that clearly hasn't materialized. This team has some serious personnel issues and an obvious lack of drive, effort, and heart. These Rockets are just not winners. No balls.
I disagree, I think they are improving, but when they get hit in the face they have not learned how to respond within the confines of the system. Too much ad lib....players trying to do it on their own.......which often equals bad results....but I see progress. DD
The Rox don't suck, they are just mediocre. I wish they did suck we might get a high draft pick out of it but they would probably piss it away for Stephen Marbury. This season is a major disappointment.
Yes but in the RIGHT way......in other words not one against five, but rather players making plays for their TEAM/teamates......that is what the team has not gotten yet... Too often they panic.....they are getting better though, give them some time. DD
Our defense HAS NO BALLS. We lost that game because are D in the 4th just fell apart. It was horrible.
Agreed, they all understood their roles, but the way the team was structured it was never going to work....EVER.... Too much reliance on yao and Tmac.... I like this direction better. DD
I understand your stance. Their was a system in place for 4 years which had no post-season success and it was time to change. However, your statements are that of a team rebuilding not one that is currently headed anywhere this season (example, "headed in the right direction". So we are basically sacrificing another season to rebuild. I am not of the opinion we needed to rebuild at this point. Adelman has not controlled Mcgrady, and has not made yao any more dominant than he already was. That is a significant portion of our personnel. If he was doing his job, he would have maintained the production and energy level of both our stars while increasing the effectiveness of the talent around them. You will say the season is early is young, I will say we are more than a third of the season complete with an outside shot to barely make the playoffs, with one of our star players having motivation issues. And Yes, that falls on Adelman's shoulders too to keep McGrady in check.
Hey, this is actually the third time I dug out this thread after it was buried down under several threads. I just don't want to start a new thread describing their poor play when this thread pretty much serves that purpose. There is one other thing I want to add to what I said in my last post on this thread is that this is a team that RA is coaching that had four players score in a playoff game last postseason.
Yep. Regardless of games in between, a team that is streaky to say the least(GSW can catch fire easy and blow out anyone) goes on a hot streak, your own offense stagnates when Yao is taken out of the play by a very overagressive defense and you lose the game means you simply have no balls. If you did not know, that come crunch time the Rockets would need someone other than Yao to step up and make plays against GSW, then you need to go back to basketball school. T-Mac(healthy) on the floor in the 4th quarter and we get different results. The difference between last year's Yao and T-Mac show and the one Adelman has been running lately is night and day. Last year you could double T-Mac, doublle Yao, and stay within ear shot of Battier and shut down the Rockets in crunch time. This year, the system allows for other players to be put in better position to make plays(a cutting Bonzi, a penetrating Luther, steady Battier in that corner, pick n pop Scola) when the studs get taken out of the play. This team has no balls. Thats why they wilted down the stretch against Denver when down 7 in the last couple of minutes. This team has no balls. Thats why when they were down 11 in the 2nd quarter, the deficit got to 20 by halftime, increased to 30 in the 3rd quarter, and had the GSW playing their 12th man with 9 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. This team has no balls. Thats why T-Mac was trying to go on a bad knee that needed some serious attention. This team has no balls. Please. That argument might have held water a month ago. Not anymore. Didnt realize that the size of your balls had an effect on the basketball going into the hoop when you shoot it. Or the effect on the other guy's shot going in when he shoots it.
t-slac needs to change his attitude. he's good, but has a grumpy mind set. we need chemistry! when we get chemistry, the balls will follow!
That's what really bugs me. The Rockets are in a no man's land. They're not good enough to get out of the first round, but not bad enough to get a good lottery pick.
