i dropped him to pick up calderon. he is extremely injury prone as it is, i am not waiting around for him to come back.
10 teams. also picked rudy gay, mike dunlevey, jamal tinsley. almost picked up chris kaman ( idiot dropped him but i didnt have the waiver for it), richard jefferson ( another dropped player), stephen jackson was avaliable for a while as well.
I don't think anyone knows when he's coming back.. including him. Fantasy pipe dream I guess. I picked up Ronnie Brewer off waivers at the beginning of the season and traded someone for TJ. I thought I was getting the better deal.. boy was I wrong. That guy is like tmac. So I dropped TJ after reading about retirement talk. Then someone snapped him up before I got a chance to read that he would play again. So.. I ended up picking up Gilbert Arenas instead. (the guy that sniped TJ from me had him at the beginning of the year). Hopefully he will contribute soon.
I would be surprised if TJ Ford, Gilbert Arenas or Elton Brand had any sort of productive fantasy season this year (although I do own Brand with a bench spot on a weekly-set roster league). I had a choice on draft day b/w Ford and Felton but couldn't pick TJ due to his questionable health status. Even though Felton is the worst guard on my roster in all categories except assists, I have to be happy with those numbers when thinking about the alternative.
Surprisingly Randy Foye has not been picked up in my league yet. Should I drop TJ for him? Last I heard, TJ was cleared to resume workouts...but has not started yet. They haven't placed a timetable for when he will return.
man ive been patient w/ ford but i dont know if i can hang on to him any longer. right now im sitting in 6th place in my league. there hasnt been much news and ive passed up chances to pick up other players...
I'm in first so I have been holding onto him in hopes that he would come back and ball.... Hopefully we get some news on his progress.
and he's gone again. Trust me, TJ ford is not going to do what he used to, at least not this year. He's like a Nene Hilario. Awesome potential, fills up the stat sheet when healthy, but is NEVER FREAKING HEALTHY.
Brand's trying to make a comeback, I think it's supposed to be 3-4 weeks off. Maybe by mid-march. I think o'neal is done for the season. There's no reason for him to rush back, the team sucks with or without him.
Thanks for the input. Also... Which one of these guys do you think will wind up with the most PT in the upcoming weeks? Flip Murray Mike James Smush Parker Damon Stoudamire Jamal Macgloire other?
Brand has stated that he personally wants to get back on the court just for "peace of mind". He's busting his butt getting in shape, and it's clear that he's eager to get back to playing. Of course, management/coaching/medics might try to shut him down, but honestly I think he's gonna at least attempt to come back.
