You guys are going to want a coach fired every year if you don't get some talent around these players.It wasn't jeff van-gundy and it isn't adelman it's the talent that you have here.
Your going to searching for coach every year if you don't get more talented players that can play with Tracy and Yao.
Who are we going to trade? Yao seems the most unhappy with the team's effort as well as his place in this offense. That tells me the coach needs to go instead of trading practically every player on the roster including the franchise player because they don't fit into this super duper offense that has yet to work.
We need some more athletic players that can run fast breaks, move without the ball, and can be a decent scorer. Im still high on Travis Outlaw, looks like hes going to have a breakout season this year.
Dear Morey, I feel that tmac will always be injury prone because of his lanky body type. Please trade him now, and get a star thats younger. Like a redd or joe johnson ...but dont go for a "quick fix" old guy like Kidd. To old. Please get players that have a mean streak. Players like Maggette or STephen Jackson would do this team some good instead of the "community guys" like Battier and james. Battier and james fit into jvg style, but not Ricks uptempo style. Trade them also. Dont try to win it all this season, go young and plan for the future. Tell Rick to start Brooks,and Landry more minutes. Trade hayes also..If he is so good like all the fans here think he is ,then cool, he should fetch a good player back since he is soooooo good right? Please understand that the league and refs will never give yao credit. Its the goliath syndrome. So quit complaining about the refs, and get a better pf,better sf,better sg,and better pg. You can accomplish this overnight. Brooks is better than ALston. If Brooks is not better than Alston ,then Brooks shouldnt be in the nba since alston is a borderline nba player like moochie norris. Snyder is better than Battier and Landry is better than hayes. JOe johnson is better than tmac so trade now. Im sure the hawks would do it. The hawks will realize soon after that tmac is overrated and injury prone and any team that takes tmac will regret it soon because they will realize that tmac sucks. later

i asked portland fans about outlaw already...they said "it starts with tmac otherwise no deal".. tmacs trade value is so low, that all you can get is outlaw if you think battier and head can get you outlaw, i have a boat i can sell you, just mail me a money order LOL
If we continue to struggle like this and players still look uncomfortable, then im expecting a huge trade, like last year when the Warriors and Indiana swapped 8 players. Hopefully we'll be like GS and tear it up the second half of the season.
I agree! In all seriousness though...I still agree. I think McGrady has to go. The sad thing is that most of the time the team looks up to him and not Yao. Yao can play hard but if Tracy is not taking the game seriously then the team tends to give up. That was not the case today but we've seen it plenty of times and it becomes more and more frequent. Maybe Adelman's to be faulted for that. He doesn't seem to care either. Some of his decisions are also questionable. For example, wtf was Luther doing playing PG when Brooks was in the game? Making Brooks a 2 while having Luther handle the ball didn't make any sense to me.
How enough is enough? Rick Adelman needs to go. Fans, players, and the owner's patience is apparently wearing thin. From what we heard, he is not doing much during practice. No set plays, no nothing. From what we saw, he is doing nothing during the game. No call of plays, no complain to the officials. Then what the hell is he doing!!! This team was a 52 win team last season. With significant addition in Scola, James, Wells, Francis and Brooks, this team is struggling so badly, which is inexcusable. Someone may say its the players, but can't you remember how the team was winning games when they had barely enough to suit up last and the season before? Adelman should take the responsibility when no one is really clicking. I like a JVG quote, "this team has enough talent to win". Maybe it was not true, but right now even if TMac does not play, this team has absolutely enough to win. I want to ask, what will make Adelman fired? 5-6 games under 50% will be intolerable. Hanging on 50% for 20 more games is not bearable to me, either. In either case, this team may miss the playoff in the tough West Conference. What's your bottom line? What's the owner's limit? From the interview, it seemed Les was very disappointed. A major trade should be held off until the coaching team is replaced. No Adelman screwup any more please! This team has enough talent to make the rotation. If they can not stay comfortably above 50%, then change of the roster won't do wonders. I for one do not like the idea of JVG once again. If something was proved not to work, repeat is not sensible. Why not Tom Thibodeau? His defense is proved effective in Boston; probably he is more open minded in the offense end than JVG. Remember Net's Frank, and Heat's Stan Van Gundy? Both guys did greatly when promoted during the season. One plus of Thibodeau is, he may be had for cheap and a long contract may not need to be offered. Give him 20 games, he would not do worse than Adelman (Who's going to?)! How long had Rudy T been the head coach in Lakers? What made him to resign? Did he really initiate everything and no pressure from the organization or players at all? Maybe the Rockets should learn from Lakers. Rick Adelman's doing-nothing strategy has to removed permanently from this organization. No more damage please!!!
This is not entirely Moneyball's fault. We must remember Morey knows numbers. He doesn't have a clue as to what makes a basketplayer a player. On paper we looked good, and all the stat slaves have been happy. However, those who actually watch games are and have been unhappy with the slower players on the team, in particular the JVG returnees -- Hayes, Battier and Alston. We need to get more athletic. I wish we could acquire Green from Minnesota and somebody like Walter Hermann, now with Detroit. If Brooks is the future, bring him out now for major minutes. We don't need major changes, just tweaks to rid ourselves of the sloths.
I don't think there's a coach who can make this line up work. If we get Jeff, he's not going to utilize steve also.
Big problem. By definition, $Ball does not accumulate large contracts. The deal went down because both Duneavy Jr and Troy Murphy had large contracts. 8.2m and 9.2m respectively this season. Excluding the max contracts of McGrady and Yao, the Rockets have Battier and James at ~MLE $ and 7+ players making $3m or less. IOW, don't hold your breath.
Agree. We have overestimated the talent on this team, just like we do every year. Steve Francis - used to be talented. Mike James - used to be talented -he was 3rd string last year on a bad team Luther Head - never that talented to begin with. Bonzi Wells - semi -talented - but either inconsistent or lazy Shane Battier - talented under a JVG system Chuck Hayes - see above "Luther Head" Now that I look back, I think JVG really overachieved with this team. He took a team of scrubs and built a 52 win team. Two years before he took a team that went 7 games with Dallas with a tadem of Bowen/Spoon at PF. His own success led to his failure. His ability to cover up his players weaknesses is what ultimatly got him fired. He fooled us into thinking we were talented team. Damn him.
Wasn't there a deal on the table that we would get Outlaw and no.4 pick (to select Roy) for our pick (no.8) and Juwan Howard? Or was that Miles?...Probably since that deal wouldn't have made any sense otherwise. Thank admin for the Ignore list.
I thought we had talent. We have a couple of role players that avg 20 and 30 PPG before they jump ship here. Battier,Scola and yes Rafer are exceptional. We have the talent.
Is it that steve is that bad....or is Tracy Mcgrady a punk? Everytime steve has started and rafer has been out, Tracy does'nt play well I am really beginning to beleive that he does it on purpose
