What?!?! Everywhere I look there are Calderon worshipers. Like he is a Steve Nash or something. Honestly, I'm getting sick of hearing about him all the time.

we could have kept gay, but instead we trade him for some over-the-hill, one dimensional 'glue' guy...
    this i blame on gundy...

    Only if you're their GM.

The only way I see Calderon getting traded this season is if:

    1) TJ Ford comes back completely healthy for the Raptors.

    2) They think they will have no chance of resigning him this off season, so they trade him to get some value back.

Assuming both of those happen, it would still be hard to think that some other team couldn't offer more value than us.

    Tonight's line: 30min/18p/16a/5r/2to

    That is incredibly efficient.

Even then why would they? Do they want to rely on Darrick Moon if either one is traded? It's not like the Suns are in a hurry to trade Barbosa since they already
    have Nash.

Kapono plays terrible defense, but the Raptors don't exactly have a lot of top defenders at any position. Moon and Delfino are adequate and above-average but the team as a whole sucks at defense. Kapono fits right in with his shooting though. The team lives and dies by the three and pretty much everyone needs to be able to shoot it. He'll never justify his contract with his play but Toronto is one of the best teams for him with the open looks that Bosh and Ford generate for their teammates.

Calderon is an amazing player, he has the ability to make others on his team look better than they really are....HE WILL be the next Steve Nash...I hope BC realizes that.....the guy has improved his game EVERY season....

Sorry but there is ZERO chance that he gets traded to the Rockets, we have no young talent to offer, sad but true....

I guess Rockets fans can hope Colangelo fries his brain with drugs. I don't know if Calderon will become Nash, but he has a bright future in the NBA. He has the complete PG skillset, can shoot the ball and often applies both in crunch time.

They have two top point guards, one will be moved eventually, but the Rockets have nothing to get either Ford or Calderon.

The rockets best option might be working a trade this summer to move up in the draft and get Augustin though i'm not sure they have enough to move up either.

Why would you say he can't be as good or better than Nash?

Fans are often blind ;) . Calderon had 16a/ 18p tonight. It does look like Steve Nash. Kapono had 29 points.

Well, Kapono just tore it up tonight. Must've heard something about him not justifying his contract huh.

Per Raptors fans here, it seems like the only way we could get Calderon now is if he somehow leaves Toronto next year. Which might happen. Some teams who are desperate for a PG will definitely overpay for a guy like him.

Don't know how much the Rockets can offer, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets signed for a good bit over the MLE.

Also, to someone's comment about the Rockets needing to find and grow their own talent, we can't do that. There's a thread going on in the Dish about finding diamonds in the rough and how we never do that and someone there brought up the fact that we never develop young players cuz we're constantly finding our missing piece, and that makes a lot of sense.

Until we start winning on a consistent basis and prove that we can make a deep playoff run with our current roster, trading for/signing that missing link between Tmac/Yao and the role players will take priority over finding young talent.
