After repubs tried to get rid of it no less.

Democrats are the biggest bunch of pansies I've ever seen. After watching the power-hungry republican douchebags ruin everything for 6 straight years you'd think the dems would be pissed and motivated.

But instead they just keep floundering away. Bunch of pansies.

And there you have the core of Mr. Bush’s philosophy. He wants the public to believe that government is always the problem, never the solution. But it’s hard to convince people that government is always bad when they see it doing good things. So his philosophy says that the government must be prevented from solving problems, even if it can. In fact, the more good a proposed government program would do, the more fiercely it must be opposed.

Good quote. That is why Bush vetoed the CHIP program again. A lot of the conservos are quite open about the fact that they are against it because it works and people might get used to it.

One difference is in what is being filibustered. Another difference is in the fact that the president is Republican, so outside of bills with supermajority support they are just standing in the way of a veto. Even so, I am against filibustering anyway. Put the bills up for an up or down vote. Put the nominations up for an up or down vote.

Legislation, as opposed to (for example) judicial nominations.
