So I was wondering with our early schedule, how it compares to other teams and I wanted to compare the winning percentage of the teams we played with another western conference team (I choose Dallas). So, after doing the stats, we have played teams with a 266-233 record (53.3%) while Dallas has played teams with a 247-247 record. So Dallas has played against five hundred ball teams overall and tehy are still struggling. Considering everything, I don't see a problem yet. I still think the rockets can be better, and its dissapointing to lose against bad teams, but we still have wins against Spurs, Lakers, Pistons, Jazz, Suns, Nuggets. If you guys want to calculate other teams' opponent record feel free to post!

you can't make the playoffs if you don't beat the teams that you should beat like the sixers and the grizzlies. doesn't matter that we can beat the lakers, spurs, suns, jazz, pistons if we don't even make the playoffs and have a chance to play them.

yeah... that 3.3% really makes a huuuuuge difference
I appreciate your theory though.. Maybe you should've chosen another team who have played a higher rate of better teams - ie have a higher percentage than 3.3... That way it might make me feel better

That is actually quite a bit, also, Dallas has played most of their games at home so far this year.

LOL, we get it. You want McGrady out. You don't have to mention it in every thread in this forum. Please stick to the topic.

The way we lost to mediocre teams is enough to tell us that we're still mentally soft as a team. We play our best when we face tough teams. That's the barometer of our potential.

If you don't like him, you should find a new team. He is not going anywhere.

"Believe me, something great is going to happen in the city of houston"

    I believe T-MAC

We seem to play up to the competition, and play down to the bad teams..

So basically, the tough schedule excuse everybody keeps throwing out doesn't really hold water. Thanks for verifying that for me.

We have played teams with 19 more wins than dallas has. How is that not a lot?

Let's look at it this way. Rockets and Mavericks have both played 23 games. So that basically means that on average, the teams the Rockets have played have less than 1 more win in the standings than the teams that Dallas has played.

So that's how that's not a lot. 3.3% differential isn't that big of a difference. And it's still not an excuse for losing to Memphis, Philly, etc.

certainly not. difference is, i don't give a rat's ass about the mavericks. i'm glad they lost those games, but it doesn't excuse the rockets by any means.
