Well let me share with you guys some of the coolest photos of Yao Ming on the latest issue of Sports Illustrated (the China version). He had been selected by public voting as the 2007 Sportsman of the Year over the like of Liu Xiang and Yi Jianlian for his on-court performance/achievement in NBA, his humanity/charity work, his global impact on the sports...........
I'm just wondering if the photographer had to climb up a ladder in order to take Yao's picture on the front page.
here is a very good interview after Yao was named the SOY. Is it translated from english, can anyone confirm? http://www.sichina.com/magazine/detail/2093.html Also, a new JVG interview appears on lots of chinese websites recently, not sure if it has an english versionl. http://sports.cn.yahoo.com/07-12-/324/29yyd.html
The article in Sports Illustrated China should be a translated one. The original is written by Mary Nicole Nazzaro, the lady shown in the photo together with Big Yao, and the interview was done in Toyota Centre, Houston on October 17th. The JVG interview on Yahoo.com, on the other hand, should be just a synopsis/summary of what JVG said on an interview on Houston Sports Radio (?). There is not a corresponding Egnlish version, unless there is such an original transcript of what he said during the radio program.
A good for Yao. I thought Liu Xiang is more popular sport figure than Yao, but it sounds like that Yao is more popular.
