If the system doesn't work for the players though then the system isn't that good. The problem I had with JVG was that he often seemed to loathe to adjust and instead ended up bringing in players, old knicks and then Battier and Hayes, that he felt could work under his system than trying to find out how to get the most out of his players. While Adelman has a system at the moment he seems to be figuring out what works best for his players which is why we've seen him try many different lineups. I think with this game he figured with the Rox slumping he might as well go back to JVG's system and rely on the players who ran JVG's sytem.
Man if Tmac wants rafer, then rafer is what Tmac will get. Lets go rafer As ugly as this game was it was alot prettier than the last two.
Rafer for president lol ... on a serious note rafer at best is an average point guard but with the way MJ and SF3 are playing and attempting to run the offense they are just flat out sucking so stick with rafer unless a better opportunity arises via trade.
Wow. OMR, one of the staunchest JVG haters this board ever saw, helping himself to a generous serving of crow. You just earned mucho respect from me, sir. Back to the topic ... I've been saying it. Rafer upgrades this team on both ends of the court and in-between. His history of shooting woes have caused many of the things he does to go unappreciated, but even as much as we talk about how he gets the team into offensive sets, takes care of the ball and runs the break well -- we don't talk enough about how good he is defensively, both as a man-to-man defender and as a team defender. I've posted his +/- stats several times so I won't do it again, but proof in point: the team's defensive rating is a full 5 points higher when he is on the court than when he isn't.
Rafer was OK in scoring today against Piston but his tempo control has been is strength and he's ok for now but during playoff, if he will go missing.
Pretty funny: Getting into it With the teams wearing throwback uniforms, guard Rafer Alston went a step further, hiking up his shorts to be throwback short shorts. "That's for Allen Leavell, and (Lewis) Lloyd and Bobby Joe Reid, all those guys." Alston said. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5374374.html At least Rafer knows his history.
well considering the seriousness of the allegation, a link or some sort of additional information would be appreciated. It's either a major story, or just speculation.

Scola and Wells were the only new faces showing up to play. It was also an 8 man rotation.
Kinda scary, this is just like last year except we were winning more games. Seems like the only difference between the two right now is that JVG got the team to play defense. Basically the same offense, same starters, and just about the whole rotation is guys from last year. And how crazy is it that the two guys that looked like they would get the most time at the PG spot, got no minutes at all? Let's just hope last year's team cashes in when they get their secound chance in the playoffs.
DD didn't post anything of value. Either the topic of Tracy purposely quiting on the team because of something to do with Rafer deserves it's own thread, probably stickied at the top of this forum, or it is unsubstantiated rumors. I just don't understand why Tmac would purposely play bad because Rafer wasn't playing, when Rafer was injured and not an option to play in the first place. I mean he didn't purposely mess up in the games where Francis looked decent and Rafer was actually healthy and on the bench, so it doesn't make alot of sense to me.
The offense does run better and we get into it quicker. However, the dude is definitely a liability on the offensive end. Rafer hit a couple of 3's to keep Chauncy honest, which open up the lane for Tmac and Yao. However, what happens when he goes for his normal 2 for 10 and 3 - 11 shooting binges?
