They're not in the tunnels, but Zero's has great sandwiches, and Doozo has the best dumplings I've ever had.
Treebeards is right underneath the building I work in. I enjoyed eating there last Friday. Kam, I am working at 1100 Louisana, near the Dallas Tunnels, but I have no problem walking two or three miles for lunch once in a while.
I miss working downtown. My favorite Tunnel spot by far was Treebeards, but last time I went they had stopped selling the Muffaletta which was disappointing.
Thats cool, I work at 1100 Louisiana as well, and Kam works next door. Maybe we should have a lunchtime Clutchfans basketball game at the downtown YMCA. In any given week, I hit up Pappas BBQ, Wall Street Deli, Treebeards, James Coney, Jason's Deli, Post Oak Grill and Subway (all within a 2 minute walk). Massa's is decent enough. I recently tried Camille's Sidewalk Cafe (located under Macy's) and enjoyed it. Hope that gives you some close places to try out.
It might be a bit of a walk depending on where you're at but the "Wok-n-Roll" in the tunnel at the bottom of the Reliant bldg is off the hook! The "Hibachi grill" is pretty good too, forget what bldg it is under though.
It's suprising how good that place is, since it looks like a rather lousy sandwich joint and is surrounded by fast food.
I work in the First City Tower. Have to agree on Wok and Roll, you can try one of the three or four Nifa's. My favorite burger place is Millers, that's right, the Miller's on Shepard, they have one in the tunnel. And its the same burger. Fatty some of my co workers ate at Zeros the other day and absolutely loved it.
i'm on the far side of louisiana by the Y but I hit up midtown for lunch at christian's tailgate (great burgers!), BW3, the silver building called district 7 or something (kinda pricier, bad service but good food), van loc (vietnamese) on milam or else more downtown spots are droubi brothers (mediterranean), new york pizzaria and then our building has chikfila, subway, kim son. i do treebeards often too but that's the farthest i'll walk. that's where we had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding! the one off market square and it was delicious! nothing like red beans and rice with sausage (and a whole lot of other food) before you get married.
I'm over by the Park Shops where the food court has a lot of choices (another Wok & Roll, Potbelly sandwiches, Otto's bbq, Dumpling place, Mediterranean place, Roman Delight pizza, Ninfa's, Longhorn Restaurant, Subway). Near 1001 McKinney, Miller's is a good and affordable burger joint that has a good, greasy double cheeseburger. Beck's Prime is Good, but pricey. Over by Two Shell (next to the WaMu) is a place that has delicious rotisserie chicken. Way over by the Hyatt is Bouray's burrito's and Vietnamese food where you can get the best giant burrito downtown or a decent bowl of pho. Of course, there's James Coney by Macy's. And various fast food places around downtown.... Whataburger, Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King. If you don't mind spending a little money, Irma's is excellent. Cabo is tasty. Massa's is good.
I like to hit up the Park Shops for lunch. Typically Doozos, Ninfas, Chic fil a or the pizza place. Treebeards is solid in the tunnels - red beans and rice are great there.
Today I tried the Kolache Shoppe for the second time. Yesterday I had an amazing beef fajita kolache with cheese and jalepenos and today I had a chicken fajita kolache with broccoli and cheese. The beef fajita kolache was by far the best thing I've had so far in the tunnels and it was only $2.45 and very filling.
