You may need a longer tie, if the front part reaches your belt, and the back part is still too small. Obviously it sounds late for that, so...tape the back part to the front part so nobody sees it

also need to ask some moore questions. should i take anything to my interview with me? when i turn in applications i also turned in a reference letter a reference list a cover leter and a resume. should i take any papers with me anyways?
I generally bring along with me the certificate I received 2 years ago, that bestows my 5th level of pimp knighthood attained. It impresses alot of people. You also can't go wrong with bringing along any bowling awards you might have achieved.
I usually bring my ping pong award/certificate. It shows you have great reflex and leadership skills to lead the ball past your opponents.
I'm tall but I only have short ties so my long piece is always long and my short piece always short, who cares how long the short piece is anyways?
It sort of depends on what kind of job you are applying for (some art/design jobs you would want to take a portfolio, other jobs they might want a writing sample, etc.) You can't go wrong bringing some paper to write (preferably in a nice leather folio like this: ) and your resume in case they don't have it with them (they should). Jot down some questions to ask the interviewer.
Ask questions about the job. Do NOT ask about compensation, vacation, etc until there is some sort of offer. The actual questions you ask are secondary to asking some questions. Some generic ones that are usually good are like: Why did you come/continue to work here?; What is a typical day like in this position?; How would you describe the style of management for this company/department?; What opportunities for leadership/advancement/continuing education are available from this position? You want to show that you are not only interested in getting a paycheck, but you are interested in the opportunity to learn and grow in the position. At least, this is stuff that has been told to me before in interview training and stuff, I have never been on the other side of the desk (thought there are others here who are in hiring).
I have found that the four in hand knot, although it does not look the best, is the easiest one to do. The Windsor knot looks the best in my opinion and I still cannot get it with practice, videos, and pictures.
