It is way too early of a season to panic. This offense is going to take some time to develop chemistry. They are definetly a hot & cold team right now. One step forward, two steps back. Due to the NBA rule changes in regards to centers, Yao will not become a dominant force night in and night out. Since Shaq has revolutionized the ultimate big man position, the NBA countered with allowing full contact inside and illegal defences. Lets face it. This is a speedy guards league. Tracy has not shown a desire to put a team on his back. Mostly because he is a jump shooter rather than a penetrator. Both Yao and Tmac show some signs of the dynamic duo, but in the playoffs neither one has the killer instict to not only finish a series but lead a team to the promise land. It seems like the old "theres always tomorrow" syndrome. Theres no urgency to win. Strictly hypothetically speaking, how would you rebuild the Rockets?
This is the 3rd thread of this type, with the title "Food For Thought", in the past 2 weeks. Strange.
Start rebuilding the Rockets by smacking the current coach upside the head first. Make him put our best players on the court. Then, get someone in to tutor Yao on how to be more aggressive. How to catch the ball. How to go after the ball. So what if he fouls out, he is being ineffective in games he doesn't anyway. Next, they could also bring in some motivational speakers to help with the mental aspect of the game. Let them do some yoga or something so that they can at least picture themselves winning. Use some Bruce Lee techniques. Whatever it takes. We have lots of talent, but the coaches and players are letting it go to waste.
Right now? the team may not defend well but our offense is almost non existent, i say the coach has to start the best and immediately bench anyone who gets out of the game plan. No matter if he is named Yao, Tracy or whatever, play by my rules or don´t play cause i don´t wan´t a "I tried but players didn´t listen" then. Also while the coach allows some players to get out of the game plan without doing nothing other players will say "wtf, i´m playing some game and my teammate is playing something different" and this will cause chemistry problems that are never for good. So straight up, put some fking discipline and get over the hump.
No sir, I was talking to the same person who said it's too early to panic at the same time asking question how to rebuild the rockets.
Do you understand what "hypothetically speaking" means? That means lets pretend. Hence the title "Food for thought".
Man this rule change excuse has to be one of the oldest on this board. I mean, the same rules aren't stopping Dwight Howard. Nobody is stopping Yao from grabbing the damn ball falling on his head, the rule did not force Yao to try and miss the soft axx lay ups right under the basket. He only has for himself to blame. His own soft mentality and soft style of playing is the reason for him to be not as dominating as he could've. Not the rules, not his coaches, not his teamates. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt he'll ever change any of that.
Are you really trying to compare Yao to a Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard+Fast+Leaper+6"11+STRONG=New Era NBA center Yao Ming+TALL+slow+in da paint backing you down=old school center I love Yao but lets remember he is 7'6". If we expect him to be a powerful gazelle at 7"6 he would redefine the position.
Oh is that what it means? I didn't know that. If you want to throw a food for thought, at least stick to one recipe, don't mix sushi and pasta.
