Walmart, go to their Deli section, u can buy a crap load for less than $5, yesterday I got a cup of popcorn chicken/sausage on a stick for like $3.50
i love it when they cook it with the chili oil, mmm mmm good. of course i always ask for extra on the side. and a dr pepper
if you just stand around you can eat all you want, the old ladies wont tell you anything, or just strike up a conversation.
anyone been to texas cafeteria on shepard and 24th? they have a chicken fried steak and two vegetable deal under $5 I believe.
All you have to do is say, "Aren't you a little young to be handing out free samples? I always thought this was something that senior citizens did". That old hag will hand over the entire skillet of whatever she is cooking.
I get one of those and an order of vietnamese spring rolls (3) for exactly 5 bucks. Gỏi cuốn The stuff from that WAL-MART deli counter is awful.
I got indigestion just reading that one. You're right- in-store delis usually have great lunch deals.
OK my best food experience ever for 5 bucks was back when I used to live in NYC and fell in love with this street vendor's food on 53rd and 6th avenue. It's simple called the "Hilton cart" cause it across from the Hilton hotel. The food which is a platter of beef and chicken gyro with seasoned rice and bread plus the famous white cucumber sauce which will blow you away. This place is usually setup after 7:00 pm and stays open until dawn so it is the perfect quickie after a long night of club hopping and partying. The food is so incredibly good and savory that it will make you comeback for more. If you are going to visit New York then you should definitely try this but be advised the line is pretty long and can stretch for a entire block especially around midnight on Saturday.
Pho Saigon on Milam probably has em. (if that's close enough) Or go to Thiem Hung Sandwich behind Kim Son.
Yes, I have eaten at that exact cart across from the Hilton. My God, that stuff is great. And the line is pretty long around 3AM. There's a couple of more carts like that around the city.
