The Rockets are too self conscious about what they SHOULD be under Adelman's offense as opposed to just simply playing the game of basketball. This team is plagued by hesitation and constant worry about running this free flow offense to perfection. They seek McGrady and Yao way too much when they should be playing as a TEAM to get the ball to the player with the best open shot regardless if it's Yao or T-Mac. Really, they are just forcing the offense to work---this is not NATURAL, GUYS!

Our team does not have an identity YET but I honestly feel despite this woeful loss that we do have the talent to overcome our deficiencies. We have all seen how great our offense can operate, however, we've seen how bad we can be when we force things to happen.

Is this because we lack leadership or because we lack a direct plan?

This loss is on our coaches and our captains. Yao hesitates way too much when he has the ball and T-Mac folds under pressure.

Too much effort is put into finding our two superstars to the point that it gets into our other players' minds that this is the only way we can score.

I never said Adelman was blaming anyone. If Adelman can't get the team to run the system, HE is the problem.

The main reason the Rockets were so awful those first games was Charlie Ward and Tyronne Lue were our PGs. JVG also had a sit down with Tracy. It looks like Adelman needs to have a sit down with the WHOLE TEAM, not just Tracy. Last time I checked, it's the duty of the coach to get maximum effort from the players, which isn't happening on either end of the floor. The Rockets need some "movement" on defense too.

The only thing that I believe that will save our season is a trade something needs to happen and it needs to happen fast

this team is just not meshing together with adleman's system. this combination of players hasnt created any consistent chemistry so far. the talent is there. it really is. but they just have to figure out how to play within the system and with each other.this same team that has lost to philly, sactown, toronto. miami, and memphis have also beaten utah, san antonio, and phoenix on the road. beating those teams is no fluke. the talent is there. hopefully we dont dig a large enough hole to come out of this season. i just hope this team figures it out sooner rather than later or else its gonna be too late to salvage this season.

    I still believe.

    GO ROCKETS!

There's nothing "wrong" with the team. What you're seeing now is nothing more than growing pains. I mean, what did you all expect from completely changing coaching staffs and offense/defense schemes? That everything would run like normal?

These things take time. Too bad so many fans are impatient.

No secret I liked JVG. But I didn't like losing to Utah at home in game 7.

I could understand that JVG might have gotten all he could out of the roster.
I feel the weak bench and PG play were really hurting us.

I do think he set up a good system and he provided the right motivation and leadership to squeeze the most out of that cast of characters.

As far as JVG being king- that would have taken a NBA Championship to crown him.

My post concerned why a better roster is struggling.

I suspect that we will not know for another month if Adelman has the wherewithall to get this team in unity, chemistry and passion- with a team identity. They are definately not the Kings. And the roster is not tooled for that type team.

For all the JVG bashing, I don't know how many really believed that he raised the level of team play and had that roster overacheiving. I think that way. ;)

The Celtics needed a lot of time to put it together with a new roster. The Magic needed a lot of time too with their new head coach and a bunch of new players too. NOT.

Bad play is bad play. There is no excuse for the lack of effort and the abundance of stupidity.

Though we started badly last time under JVG and still make 51 games, we played hard and tough. We just lost because of execution and lack of talents
in the bench, etc. Currently, we lost because of execution also and lack of will. I worried about the lack of will or the energy level (intensity). Unless Adelman put some fire under these players, the lack of will and energy will stay.

well I dont care we win or lose unless we can not play in the playoff.
lose is not a bad thing, may be the team can earn something in it and then become better and better.
now we have a new coach, many new faces and a new system, so be patience please. dont just talk about trade when we loss,is nothing. Mav was the No.1 last year, but who cares? be good in the playoff is the real good ;)

I think it's time to bench any player who do not play with intensity and that include superstars Yao and TMac. I think the bench plays better together
than the starters. We need to call Aaron Brooks back froM NBDL and starts
AB, Synder, Head, Bonzi, Scola. I saw the last combination play with better intensity and cut the deficit to 11 but that combination include Mike which I think is still in a slump.

Adelman is a proven winner in this league. I am disappointed in how we are playing but our bench came off and did a heck of a job. When you get the ball to Bonzi down low, good things happen. And that has to happen when McGrady becomes a sensitized magnet. McGrady has to give up up the rock and force the other guys to make plays. It was obvious last night that other guys on this team can make plays. We're gonna have to realize when McGrady should be used as a decoy. When two guys are surrounding him, that leaves 3 on 4, we should be able to run PnR quite easily.

    I wondered that last year
why supposedly better rosters - [THE T-MAC rosters] - didn't do better than the Steve Francis Playoff Roster - same result . .1st round exits

Can we give Adelman more than 2 months???

Folx b*tched about SF not buying into JVG's system . . and that the overall game suffered
WELL . . .looks like T-mac may not be buying completely into this system .. h*ll the whole team

    GIVE

    IT

    Time

Regular season is nothing more than practice anyway

    I don't think I have a choice.

I think Adelman is a good coach, you can't fool around in this league and acheive what he has by luck.

I am trying to understand myself why we are imploding at the moment.

It's not that we are losing, it is the bigger picture that seems like disarray.

I think this coaching change is hard on the players for some reason.

I don't want JVG back, because that is unrealistic.

I want to know how we are going to get this roster to overacheive like the previous team was able to do.

When it comes down to it Utah, SA, Phoenix, and Dallas still have better rosters than the Rockets.

They especially have much better PG play which is very important especially in the playoffs.

Give us D. Williams and Utah R Alston and we win that series in five games.

the reason we are underdogs is because we are 11-11.
Before the season we would not have been underdogs in our next 11 games.

    momentum changes every game.

we may be underdogs now but that changes depending on our play at each particular game.
