So these dumbasses were standing around and waiting for McGrady to pass them the ball...but yet you praise Rafer for doing the same thing (the kick out)? McGrady's faced double teams all throughout his career. He's seen them all. What he needs to realize, especially this year, is that when he penetrates looking for a foul and not a shot, he's not going to get that foul call. And if he does get the foul call, what good is it doing for him and his team when he's shooting at about a 70% clip at the FT line? McGrady's slowly putting himself on a one-man island again.
lmao! did u even watch the game? facing double team is different from when he had the ball and trapped in a double team. That's means he was in a poor position to even put down the ball to dribble. He needed a teammate to help out so he could pass the ball.
And...Rafer helps out? Rafer does the same exact thing that everyone else does when McGrady gives the hand signal for "get the hell out of the way".
Lol! if T-Mac has one free hand to wave his teammates away, then I think he gets enough space to dribble. talking to a blind is going nowhere.
You came out of lurk mode for that? GermanRoxFan was right on the mark. Wishing injury on our own player is disgusting.
Even though Yao played a minute over his average and shot 50%, he had fewer shot attempts than any other game this season, 6 under his average. I think Steve is a much much smarter player then when he was here last time. I like the way his game is maturing, and I look forward to when he's fully back in shape and hitting his stride. That said, Rafer is good at running this offense and the coaches and players appreciate his play. I hope he gets healthy soon.
We need Rafer healthy when James is having a major slump now. Francis is still picking up the tempo but he still need some time to achieve his normal capability. Rafer just need to have additional shooting practice before every game. Just hope he'll be fit soon.
WTF IS WRONG WITH MIKE JAMES? NOT ONLY DOES HE LOOK BAD OUT THERE, BUT UNLIKE BONZI WHO IS VISIBLY DISTURBED WHEN HE MISSES LAYUPS, MIKE LOOKS LIKE HE IS WAITING FOR THE END OF THE GAME TO GO AND FINISH BUILDING HIS HOUSE OR SOMETHING!
ALSO I BET BATTIER SLEEPS REALLY GOOD AT NIGHT. I DOUBT HE EVEN THINKS ABOUT NOT TOUCHING THE BALL FOR 10 OR MORE TRIPS DOWN THE FLOOR ON EACH END. HE'S A NON STAT STAR! HE IS THE MOST INVISIBLE STARTER ON A TEAM THAT I HAVE EVER KNOWN. LISTEN TO A GAME ON THE RADIO WITH GENE PETERSON, AND WHEN HE IS IN THE GAME, UNLESS YOU HEAR THEM SAY HE IS TAKING A THREE, YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHO ELSE IS ON THE COURT OTHER WITH THE TEAM. ON OFFENSIVE, MOST OF THE TIME YOU WILL ONLY HEAR THREE NAMES CALLED; WHICH MEANS THAT THEY ARE NOT PASSING THE BALL AND LETTING EVERYONE GET INVOLVED!
I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT IM PRACTICALLY IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU. I REALLY EXPECTED MUCH MORE FROM MIKE JAMES. BEFORE WE SIGNED STEVE, I REALLY EXPECTED HIM TO COME HERE AND START. I WAS UPSET WHEN WE TRADED HIM FOR RAFER. BUT HE SUCKS SO FAR THIS YEAR, PLAIN AND SIMPLE! (HOPE IT CHANGES)
My observations for today's game: T-Mac - made bad decisions many times Yao - play passively and indecisively Steve - Too slow Bonzi - Fine Everyone else - below average
Quick Question: Which is more SF's fault. . the 11 pt lead at half or the loss of it in the second half? Rocket River I just think folx get overly liberal with the blame
He gets both the credit for the 11 point lead at the half and shares the blame for turning that lead into a 13 point loss. I mean we aren't going to move up in the standings because we were leading at half time. If anything leading at half time by double digits and then losing by double digits makes things worse. That doesn't mean Rafer would have won us the game necessarily or that it is all on Steve. The only thing it "proves" is that Steve was not the huge upgrade at PG that many assumed he would be in ONE game. Since it is unlikely Rafer's groin will be healed by tonight, I expect Francis will start again. Hopefully the whole team plays better.
Steve will probably start tonight (unless Rick spends some personal alone time with Wafer ), but he better bring a more aggressive game or he will be fodder on this and all forums. He can't be passive to support Tmac's ego. He is the point guard, needs to get the ball up the court fast, get ALL teammates involved, attack the basket and other teams point guard, and do all the other little extras that he is capable of. Otherwise I will crucify him on here after the game!
Come on..... lets be real here! Rayfoot sucked last year and so far has not been consistantly on point yet. Steve as we all know has not been in game shape and has his first start of the season, and he did ok for his first start. How many attempts did he have???? 6.......6 attemps in 30+ min. Still finished with 7pts. He got to the line which is something we know Rayfoot can't do. Now steve needs to learn from his mistakes and improve and given the chance he will.
If Francis starts, he needs to take the ball to the hole himself. Kick it out to T-Mac or Shane when he drives or dunk the ball himself. Or he needs to get the ball to Yao with interior passing. Francis taking 3 ptrs right now would be painful to watch since his shot isn't there yet. I wonder if Adleman is even letting Steve play this way or if he has this cookie cutter idea of what a guard should do in a motion offense? On conventional NBA teams, the guard comes down the floor and pushes it and then tries to beat the defense himself or pass it out to the wings to beat the defense. Failing that they resort to a conventional half-court offensive set with low post play or high post play. Adleman's high post offense is more complicated than most. In most high post offenses, the posts just occupy the elbows and the guard curls around and they run the high post pick and roll. The forwards typically just flash up and down but the guard controls the ball at the key. This offense I'm thinking is too complicated for our guys to get right now. Adleman needs to simplify it to a few plays. Francis needs to do what he does best and play to his strengths. Which is drive and kickout off the pick and roll.
This is only my opinion, but I don't feel the complexity of the coaching plan is our problem at the moment.
I also think something is wrong here. BUT my guess is when Francis starts after Rafer is out, Mike probably pouting which causes him to play badly so that when we lost the game, ppl will say "SEE FRANCIS STARTS AND WE LOST". That's my hypothesis though. So I SHOULD START, says Mike.
