I feel they are not perparing well for the difficulties. They maybe think they are one of the top teams in the league. The reality is that they are fight for a playoff spot. I think they should see themselves clearly now, and start to fight for every single game.
GOOD POINT. AND THE ROLE PLAYERS LIKE BONZI, STEVE AND SCOLA SHOULD STEP OUT AND TAKE CONTROL OF THEIR OWN DESTINIES AND STOP BEING AFRAID TO UPSET TMAC, AND/OR YAO. IT TAKES A TEAM TO WIN EVEN IF YOU HAVE STARS ON YOUR TEAM.
What is with all the yelling? I don't think the Rox overestimated themselves, I think we did. They will get their stuff together but if they face any of the top 4 teams in the first round, its going to be another first round exit. Unless we replace one of our current PGs with a real one.
In fact, last season rockets were very lucky to get no.5 in WC. Many players in lakers, honets were injured. Core players in Dever were supspended for a long period. Also, golden states' trade was late. Even now JGD was still rockets' coach, we might not win more games this season. Rockets players should feel crisis, and start to fight for every single game.
Don't tell us the Rockets were lucky because of the Hornet's and Laker's injuries. The Rockets had it just as bad if not worse. Yao has missed 77 games the last 2 seasons. That's why Yao was riding pine, while Mutombo and Juwan Howard were starting.
As you said, when Yao was injured last season, Mutombo and Juwan Howard replaced him well. That is very lucky, isn't it? Unfortunately, no one in lakers can replaced odom, brown, and walton, and no one in hornets can replace paul and Stojakovic. I think rockets' slogan "It's time!" is a misleading one.
I agree we are the ones who have hyped up the rockets this year and it actually seems to happen every year and when we lose everyone goes crazy im not saying you shouldn't be upset but at the same time I do not believe we are an elite team so you can expect games like this until we become a force in this league
They were hyped beyond no end this offseason. JVG was like Bill Belichick in that he NEVER let his players get carried away. If they won 102-77, he'd be frustrated and incensed that they didn't win 102-66. Adelman is too laid back for this group. That's nothing new, but when you have a team with no true leaders and whose key players don't have the heart or pride to hate losing, you need a dictator.
Totally agree with you. Gundy was hard on team even when they win, which is by design to never let the team let their guard down. Adelman just is more laid back and doesn't seem to know how to push his players' buttons.
They don't overestimate themselves. They can't find themselves. There is no identity here. The only identity we have is the shadow of what JVG's defense was.
overestimation: 2nd round (or championship) underestimation : lottery team( we could still clinch the playoff...rite?) anyway, this is the OFF-season based what we've done now ......real OFF
