I though there were some license plate covers that make the camera image blurry? But when you look at them you see the numbers perfectly but cameras can't pick it up. Anyone hear of these? DD
I'm not sure those exist. Or if they do, they even work. But if they do, they're probably illegal - and the fine for having them is probably much, much more than the citation for running a red light or speeding.
Yeah, anything that obscures the plate is illegal. That's why too-large license plate brackets were causing people to get tickets for a while...
Not to be Debbie Downer, but... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5363820.html Driver dies in collision after running red light Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle A pickup truck driver died this morning after he drove through a red light and was struck by another vehicle, Harris County Sheriff's deputies said. The driver disregarded the stop light in the 3800 block of FM 2920 at Falvel about 11:15 p.m. Saturday and was struck by a Nissan van, deputies said. He was thrown from the pickup truck and taken by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital. He died of his injuries shortly before 1 a.m., deputies said. The driver and five passengers in the Nissan van were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. The fatal accident remains under investigation, deputies said.
There's a spray and also a clear cover (two different products). I don't live in an area that has many red-light cams so I haven't tried it; one product is called PhotoStopper. I don't run red lights, but I guess it's a nice safety net just in case.... I saw a local news report on a similar product (don't remember the brand) and the product worked in their tests.
