Judging from the last five years it must be pretty difficult.

I guess it actually is. But management has wasted what, four years of Yao and Tmac's prime? We can't surround them with a decent freakin point guard?

All other issues aside, seriously, everybody has to be in awe of this list:

    Allen Iverson
    Baron Davis
    Steve Nash
    Tony Parker
    Deron Williams
    Chris Paul

    Derek Fisher
    Devin Harris

    Reefer Altson!

I mean come on!!!!! :D

I'd rather have Matt Maloney or Eldridge Recasner at PG than Alston. I'd take Sedale Threatt too.

If Alston is still starting on this team by next month, pippendagimp's head is gonna explode!!

Morey after the seventh game collapse in the playoff series with Utah, "We were exposed at the point guard position." Er, uh, Rafer is still starting and getting major minutes. Did he transform himself over the off season, uh, no?! This is a train wreck in the making. Utah looks a good bit stronger to me.

Cross-posting would be unnecessary if there weren't so many thread on the same d*mn topic, only weakly disguised.

I know this question has been asked before but I would like to know if getting Carlos Arroyo would help the team out?Another question that I have is,should we also look for a backup center like Nazr Mohammed for the future to replace Deke?

Two or in this case three wrongs don't make a right.

This thread is not about Steve Francis starting over Reefer. This thread is not about Mike James starting over Reefer. This thread is not about trading for another point guard.

I am merely pointing out the fact that we are going to war in the Wild Wild West with a super soaker.

You guys simply can't even accept that Rafer is a problem on this team? Sure he might be the best option we have (I personally don't think so). But all I am saying is that Reefer will not cut it when we face superstar talent at the point guard position night in and night out.

Forget stats for a moment. With your own eyes do you not see teams sagging off Reefer to double Yao or Tmac even before they get the ball? That is not going to fix itself. Reefer is not going to wake up one night and figure out how to shoot.

**** Reefer man. I've never hated a Rocket before. The guy can go straight to hell for all I care.

That's why I think that if Francis is given consistent minutes he will help us a ton. He's not the Stevie of old as far as explosiveness, but I think his overall game has matured and he can still be a star guard.

First of all it gets annoying when people feel the need to hijack a thread and then lecture someone on starting a thread. Second, this thread is different from the thread you're talking about. One is comparing our PGs this one is talking about how PGs are important in the West and showing those PGs and how we can improve the Rocks.

It's only wasted time if we passed up an option to get one of those players. Or is there someone else available who can hang with that list? Someone we have a realistic chance of signing. All of last year it was post after post of wanting Mike James as our answer to that list. Well, we have him.

Who's next? Who can we get? Yeah those teams have excellent players at the 1 spot. They do not have comparable players at all spots just as we don't have players of T-mac and Yao's quality at all spots. You guys don't like Rafer. Mike James has not proven himself to be the answer. So far it is b****ing upon b****ing while our ficticious answer at point guard, to the list above, is yet to be named.

Explain what new revelation we missed.

It's no hijack, it's the same d*mn topic, over and over. That's not annoying?

even more importantly, we have the best point forward, maybe the only point forward in the game.

If this isn't a Rafer Alston bashing thread then the Rockets unis are not red.

On my opinion there are only 2 PGs we have a very, very small shot at, that would make us a lot better: Andre Miller and Jose Calderon.

Miller is making close to 10 million a year, and Toronto is really fond of Calderon (and they should be). If we want either one of them, we would have to pack a group of players valuable to us. If we want Calderon, we would also have to take another player that is way overpayed and probably give at least a first round pick.

Most probable trades would definetly involve Battier and probably Alston. If we are lucky, the other pieces might be someone like Head or Snyder, if not they would be Bonzi or Francis.

I think there is more b****ing from people who think others are b****ing about Reefer.

I didn't realize somebody was holding a gun to your head and forcing you to look at all the Reefer threads.

Why don't you actually answer the questions above instead of constantly whining about redundant topics.

Don't like it, don't read it.

I hope so, but I'm just skeptical.

I really don't think we need an All Star at the pg position. Tmac and Yao just need someone who can shoot, play defense, and occasionally break down the defense to take it to the hole. Steve has done those things in the past and hopefully can excel again.

Hypothetically, if Stevie can't get it done, who would you like to see us get at that position?
