No, we are not talking about the interface, we are talking about the presentation, and I know for a fact that MTV took our demo to Harmonix and showed it to them. 2 producers that left MTV told me this is exactly what happened. Again, believe what you want, I know the truth. DD
EVERYTHING is a ripoff these days. The fax machine is nothing but a waffle iron with a phone attached...
sucks, but thats business. You snooze, you lose. I've had a few ideas over the years that I sat on to only see a few years later. WW2 MMO game? I think the WW2 craze is slowing down a bit. Might want to put a new twist on it. At least, WW2 games got a bit old to me after years of DOD, which is a underrated multiplayer, imo. How about a Civil war MMO? that would be good for the wii...you could use the wiimote to "load" youd musket...not to mention the use of a sword/bayonet. Damn, im a fountain of ideas
Not a broad enough audience, and our game is not historic so much as it is a combat FPS game with tons and tons of upgrades etc. If you are playing the allies and want to buy a Tiger tank...great.....and then you want to put a larger gun on it....great, what about better ammo...great. Basically we start the global conflict around 1920-5 or so and then go until the 50s. Imagine having a BiPlane with missiles....... DD
not a broad enough audience?! blah... i bet people said that about guitar hero too bi plane with missles is a bit much, but the vehicle/ammo upgrades are nice. Experimental german weapons, e.g. vortex gun, death ray, etc? It's been almost a year since i touched a fps game though
The thing is that we are going to develop the game in a very public manner, with live web cam feeds, and audience participation, so if you are interested, then by all means come on by and throw your 2 cents in.... DD
i can track expenses, do your budget, forecast and assist in other general business tasks. I'll let you know if i think of anything...you know i love to share my opinions.
Off topic but i played any version of GH for the first time last saturday and i am now hooked. my roommate bought GH3 and i play it for a bit every night now. my other roommate who owns the ps2 and guitars I am already better than (not saying much) but that game is fun and addictive wish they had some other songs that would be fun to play. oh and DaDa i feel for you man that really blows
I just ordered another GH3 yesterday so that I can have two wireless guitars. I hate the damn wired guitars.
DaDakota, I sent you an email through the board about an hour ago. Do you use that email account? If so, and you haven't gotten the email, you might want to check your junk mail. It might've got filtered.
This does sound pretty interesting. I don't really care for the game idea (might be better if I have more details, or see it in motion), but I think I'd really like this approach to development. Not sure if this is similar to what you were thinking about, but I thought some of the weekly podcasts by developers (like Bungie and Insomniac) were a great way to connect gamers to the developers. In fact, while not every developer is putting out a weekly podcast, it does seem like more and more of them are opening up to their fans (through blogs or whatever). Of course, this doesn't quite put the focus on participation from the audience though, unless I'm misunderstanding you there. Sadly, my favorite developer (Square-Enix) is pretty much taking the exact opposite approach.
