This is one of those games where we gotta make yao our focal point of the offense. the nets lack interior defense. besides magloire, they have noone who can play any interior D whatsoever. yao should have a field day in new jersey

    Rockets 102 to nets 99.

    Yao 34 10 boards 3 blocks
    McGrady 25 8 assists 7 boards
    Wells 14 7 boards
    Scola 10 5 boards

My son and I will be there to cheer us on! He'll be the one wearing the Yao jersey. Wait ... this is the Nets ... there are hundreds wearing the Yao jersey and probably a thousand wearing the McGrady jersey showing up!

Am I the only one who's pessimistic about this game? I have a bad feeling that Yao will get 2 quick fouls in the first quarter and become cold in the rest of the game, and Tmac would again get no help from his jumpers and team mates, and we lose by 10. :(

    Rox, please prove me wrong!

They simply can't match up with us. YAO and Bonzi will destroy Net's interior defense with no sweat. As long as we can contain Carter/Jefferson, it's gonna be an easy win for us. Rafer said he enjoys playing with Kidd and he can predict Kidd's moves very well (because they both used to play street?). Hope he'll bring us some surprise on defensive end

    sorry about the last post

Man Les should make this happen, he hasnt done anything the past few years to thank the loyal fans of the Rockets......the only thing he has done is jack up the ticket prices to the game and give us excuses for not making it to the playoffs or to the 2nd round, and charge us an arm and a leg for a couple of beers at the game

he should take a hit to his pocket and get Jason Kidd, which will for sure garuntee us 2 championships.......that would please me and more than half the members on this site

It's why you're not Les. You think about consumption. He think about money(investment). Keep dreaming. It may come true someday.

With Dallas losing last night to Denver, this is an important game, we can almost nullify the 6 game slid with a win tonite and be back within one game of Dallas. I still think we can win the division, but I'd even take a higher seed than Dallas, or forcing Dallas to face Golden State again.

Not to jump on your case man, but how does SKIPPER add anything to offensive firepower?

I would start Bonzi over Battier because he is a post threat and battier on the perimeter is not much of a threat these days. Tmac really wants to live out on the perimeter anyway. He doesn't really want to keep driving and taking hard fouls because his main goal is to play in all the games this year, which now he can only do minus two. But I think Tmac is going to be a beast in the playoffs as far as driving to the basket is concerned, if he is healthy.

With Bonzi and Steve in the lineup with Scola, Yao and Tmac; we may not have as much three point shooting in as we are used to, but the overall offensive punch is MUCH MORE dangerous than with any other lineup. This lineup can outscore the best teams in the league. That's why you want this lineup on the floor together for as much of the game as possible. It will allow you to get LEADS, and not just play swap baskets.

People say that the defensive of this starting lineup would be lacking, but I disagree. Our other lineup doesn't block that many shots or get that many steals, so this lineup would at least get WAYYYYYYYY more rebounds. Scola will get as many rebounds as Chuck if given the same amount of minutes. He will also take just as many charges if not more. He may not steal as many balls as Chuck, but his scoring will overshadow that by a long shot. They will both foul about equally against the best power forwards in the West. So Chuck will still get considerable minutes.

Rockets must start a streak of at least 7 games. I want to see if the play against the Grizz will continue throughout the rest of season.

    Rockets Win!!

Stevie should bust out the laxative, and pour some in Rafer's waterbottle to assure himself 30+ minutes in the rotation.

Stopping Kidd from running the break will be important. I can live with outside shooting as long as they are not wide open looks but we must stop them from getting easy layups and dunks.
On another note I would have been very happy to see Sean Williams and Scola on the Rockets. I would like to see Yao and Luis schooling him and Magloire.
    GO ROCKETS!

This game is potentially dangerous. I bet NJ comes out fired up with all the distractions of late.

Rockets better come out with some intensity...oh wait...

though this team is not bad, i was in person two years ago at toyota center when yao dropped 36. it was easy to tell that when there is no answer defensively for the big fella, it should be up to yao how much he scores.

add new jersey to the list of teams that yao should have their numbers.

Man Everytime I watch Jason Kidd play I wish he was on our team. I mean with the best PG in the leauge no team could beat us. And I hear that he wants a trade, I wish there was some way we could he him. If we did I wouldn't ask GOD for anything else this year. Oh yea Rockets will win this game.
