I consider that quote the key part of that interview. But i dont think RA needs to inculcate this to the bench players. He needs to understand this himself and make sure they get more minutes and are more involved in the offense. If he just lets Tmac run isos and contested jumpers every time down the court thats on the coach for allowing it. If the other Rockets dont expect to get the ball they are not gonna run hard cuts or do much of anything. They will conserve their energy for the defensive end and the offense will go to the crapper. Last game was a good example of what happens when people get passes when they are open. They work harder to get open and get good shots!!
As always, good read. Much more insightful than anything that seems to ever come from the Chron. Just one thing....one of my pet peeves is when journalists refer to our center as "Ming"...unless your intention is to call him by first name, but since you said "McGrady and Ming" I assume you meant to use his last name, Yao. Tracy and Ming would be fine....otherwise it should be Mac & Yao.
That's a very good point. If I'm being perfectly honest, I think the only reason I went the "McGrady and Ming" route was for the alliteration. Poor choice on my part, but sometimes those poor decisions sneak through as a result of them being made in the wee hours of the morning. Lame excuse, but that's the best I've got Thanks for the feedback! JCF
