How in the world, can a player who cant make Fts and a player who just has a bad FG% when shooting all his shots a few feet from the basket, make it out of HS on a scholarship, then make it through college, then play for a NBDL team, and convince NBA coaches that he has what it takes to play in the NBA? His athleticism didn't get him there, nor his height. So how did he do it? Here is a list of his Kentucky stats, game by game. I find it interesting, look at his THREE'S... yes, I said THREE'S. Whats he doing shooting these???? Whats he doing shooting period!?!

Attempted 78 threes in 4 years. I find it weird.

Well, he is not very talented but he is a very very hard working and hustling player. He is also a very determine guy.

Shows what hard work and dedication can do. Now only if everybody in the NBA was like that.

LOL! He actually made a bunch. Shot about as well as Rafer does now (although the college 3 is closer than the NBA 3).

Hayes was -10 +/- tonight. 2 pts 7 rebounds 1/3 shooting in 15:41 min of play.

I think Bonzi stole a lot of his play time and points tonight. Bonzi created some of his own points but a few were those garbage baskets Chuck Hayes usually gets.

And yet Hayes is an upgrade over Swift. Hard work > lazy, raw talent.

You also have to be at the right place at the right time. Just ask Charles Jones back in 95.

Scoop??? How is this news, Chuck is a hustle player that's how he makes his money. He takes charges, get the tough rebounds, and plays good defense.

Ask how did Ryan Bowen get a contract or Mark Madsen or Eduardo Najera....

hmm. He actually had a decent FT % during his college career. He was a about 73% his senior year. FTs are the same at all levels right? the funny thing is, I remember his FT shot used to look a lot better. Is he trying to draw people offsides by shooting like this? If he is, I think it's backfiring on him.

haha he can't even stand still when he's shooting FTs, its like ball all of the sudden becomes 25 pounds heavier or something. Its like watching a drunk guy trying to focus on the hoop so he can put the ball through the hole! lol ok i'll stop! :p

Hayes play great defense and can go for the rebound. He's perfect to play alongside Yao on defense, by guarding the great PF we see in the west everyday and help Yao's poor rebounding range.

On offense, he's a huge liability.

This is funny. Keep a close eye on Boozer during Chuck's 2nd FT. He goes into the lane, starts to box out, then sees the ball is STILL in Chucks hands and says "oh ****"
