http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/sports/kings/archives/009447.html Comes at a time when Sacramento was playing a very good stretch of basketball led by Ron Artest. That guy (Artest) really is a difference maker when his game is on.
yeah, they just beat the jazz last night. i thought their wins against san antonio and houston were just flukes, but maybe i shouldn't have disregarded them. just looking at that pf rotation - mikki moore, kenny thomas, and shareef abdur-raheem - caused me to cringe. but maybe artest's suspension wasn't that damaging for them because john salmons established himself as a legitimate rotation player, and maybe the same applies for mike bibby's injury, because beno udrih also established himself (although i would have never expected it considering the vitriol spurs fans expressed for him on their forums). if i were them i would trade bibby and package it with one of their bad contracts (kenny t or shareef) for an expiring contract and a young player, although i'm not sure exactly who would be involved.
His fg% hasn't been as impressive as the last 2 seasons --- might have something to do with having a central role on offense. The Kings still have Artest and John Salmons/Francisco Garcia to fill in for Martin. I'm not saying they will continue to beat teams like Utah and Houston on a regular basis, but Kevin Martin isn't half as valuable to the Kings as Ron Artest.
