I posted a link here a while back on a guy from the Globetrotters who can dunk on a 12 foot rim -- it's actually the record. It's pretty cool to see once, but it would get old if everyone was dunking on high rims because there not much style. I'll try to find a link to that dunk...

From the where the goal is would be 10'4". The lift-off point would be 9', taking into account the drastic slope of the driveway.
There are more than a handful of people on this board that can vouch for both my height and my jumping ability from personal experience, but rather than wait on them to see this thread... Screwing around on 10 foot <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2lE0iEPZhFk&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2lE0iEPZhFk&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> A video I made a while back for...well, times like this. (I just changed it from Private to Public so if it doesn't show up, try later) <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-5PgyGqW2zc&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-5PgyGqW2zc&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> The goal in the video is obviously 10'3.5". The goal on the opposite side of the park is 10'4" and that's the one I dunked, which I've only done a few times. My legs have to be very warm and the ball has to have enough grip for me to palm it. Regardless, there should be enough evidence there to support my claim. I had a feeling someone would feel the need to call me out on it, as usual.
I admit, thats some nice jumping, You do a little plyos or are you just naturally lucky? Its good you can't shoot... ha, just playin man....
Mostly natural. My dad was a clumsy athlete with bad vision so he sucked at basketball and football, but excelled at track. I guess I got some of that in my genes. I did do a little bit of plyometrics and calf raises in high school, but only what we were assigned to do as members of the basketball team. Still, that was over 7 years ago the last time I did any of that stuff. Never taken part in any of those "increase your vertical" programs. As for the shot, I had to work on that. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5460Yo8G5XU&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5460Yo8G5XU&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Whats makes it more funny is that ClutchCityReturns has posted these vids before. Back to the topic, you can not extrapolate it like that. What makes it amazing is that Howard is also 260 + pounds. Lets put it in perspective, when I was a freshman in college I could touch the rim pretty easily and I only 5'6" with very short arms but I only weighed 138 pounds back then. Now I weigh closer to 190 and I can barely get a foot of the ground. Judging from your videos, you probably weigh between 150-160 pounds. That is 100 pounds less than Dwight. Now slap on a 100 pound backpack on a see how high you jump. Just look at Bonzi last year versus this year. Bonzi was probably 20 pounds overweight last year and he could even dunk. If Dwight can dunk on a 12' foot rim, it would definitely be amazing and I don't know of any other player currently in the NBA that could do it except for maybe Lebron and he is closer to 6'10" these days.
He is sticking a sticker in one hand and dunking with the other hand. errr. that's not his maximum reach.
Nice form on the Jumper, I wish I lived in Houston so we could get some 1 on 1 going. Instead I have to live in LA LA land....
I'm about 175lbs currently, and in those videos, but that's a moot point. The larger you are, the bigger your bones and muscles are, allowing you to run and jump accordingly. That's why I couldn't jump over nickel if I weighed 260, but Dwight can jump through the roof. It's all relative to height and 260 is definitely not heavy for a 7 footer. He jumped as high as he could and slapped the sticker onto the backboard, and that was well before the dunk. I doubt it took anything noteworthy off his leap. Nope.
The thing is that I have seen and heard of many people your size dunking on a 10 foot rim but I've only heard two people in history the world that is his size dunking on a 12 foot rim and the other one scored 100 points in game and averaged over 50 for a season.
Number of 12 foot rims in the world. Number of 7 footers in the world. Number of 10 foot rims in the world. Number of 5'9" people in the world. Think reeeeeal hard about how big or small each of those numbers is.
