Can you point to single report where he's quoted as bad mouthing Utah? If not, stop making stuff up...
Fisher's contact does not count against the Jazz. The remainder of his contract was amended from ~$20 million to $0. I don't know why the Jazz fans are pissed about this unless they wanted a player that wasn't worth $6+ million dollars a year for 3 more years on their books. Jazz fans - classless, clueless, but loud nonetheless.
Receiving a treatment for cancer is not always receiving the best treatment for cancer. The treatment Fisher thanks is best for the cancer is not available in SLC.
For the record Reynolds should be able to post here all he wants. I like getting another perspective from other fans.
Be careful. Fisher's prior tenure as a Laker is overrated by some members here. But last night, I don't blame him for Deron William's outburst. With Boozer and Okur out, he had clearly decided to dominate the game on the offensive end and few players in the NBA could have slowed him down.
come on jazz fans... the man basically won the game last playoffs against the Warriors when he came back at halftime. He totally shut down baron davis and shot a clutch 3pter in OT.
Seems like there is a lot of over-reacting here. First of all, there is nothing wrong with booing. I do it all the time. I boo the opposing team. That's part of sports. Heck, sometimes you have to boo your own team. Secondly, everyone seems to be right. Fisher couldn't get the type of treatment he wanted in SLC. But what does that have to do with him playing for the Jazz? He still could have moved his family to LA in the offseason and gotten the treatment, and continued playing for the Jazz. And it certainly seemed to me like Fisher was not planning on playing this year, to only all of a sudden sign a new contract with the Lakers. What's more, he's certainly can't be the only player in the NBA, NFL, MLB, whatever, who is in a situation like this. And he's certainly not the only person in the world in this situation. In the "real world", there'd definitely be sacrifices being made..that's life. So, of course, Fisher used his situation to get out of his contract...it's undeniable. That doesn't mean he wasn't sincere is his reasons for doing it, but he did. OTOH, it was a good opportunity for the Jazz to get rid of him. Plus, the luck they ran into with the Boozer situation. All in all though, I don't see it as a big deal. If Jazz fan wants to boo, its not classless. If I was booing I wouldn't be thinking: "BOOO, I hate you and hope your daughter dies!"....it would just be: "BOOO, you used to be on our team, through a series of strange and unclear events, you no longer are, so booo to you...hope your daughter is doing ok, though." no big deal...
This thread is still going? And I would like to say I was wrong when I hinted that Fisher took money from the Jazz. That was a mistake on my part. However, I think people are really taking this too far. So the Jazz fans booed him, won't be the first and won't be the last. Hell, I'm sure they would've booed Malone too had he not been injured during every home game.
I don't like Fisher and don't like the Jazz. I would trade this entire roster other than Yao and Tmac for a PG that was 75% as good as Deron Williams, however.
Man Jazz fans are the worst. I lived in SLC for 7 years. Went to school at the U of U. They booed Danny Manning when he came back. Danny Manning!! Come on, the poor guy walked like he had a Louisville slugger up his @#$ and was consistently a role player and gets booed? They also take it personally if you cheer for another team. Last year in the playoffs my fiancee and I got pizza thrown at us all game long by the Energy Solutions faithful. Oh yeah. Larry Miller is an idiot.
Just one point of clarification: the specialized treatment that Fisher sought for Tatum was in New York. If he had signed with a team back east I doubt that anyone would have cared.
