What a stupid, stupid post. Just like all your posts in this thread have been. Can you at least admit you're a homer? Or do you actually believe all this drivel. I hope LSU plays OSU, because they WILL crush them, and you can follow through and stop posting about your lack of knowledge. Will 2 years in a row of getting stomped on by an SEC team in the BCS game finally convince you?
Hawai'i is getting screwed out of a chance or consideration to play in the National Championship Bowl much less a BCS Bowl game. I know they haven't they have played the toughest schedule, but they are the only undeafed team & it makes one wonder if the fix is in. It seems like other teams get too much benefit of the doubt. Like LSU which had two chances to stay at #1 & blew it. What you essentially ou have is a class system.
It is a class system but if Hawaiii want recognition, you play the top programs on their field (because the top program teams are not going to schedule a weaker team as a visitor), a lot of mid major basketball teams do this, it's not exactly fair but that is one way to build up your school recognition. If you're going to be the big fish while being a small pond and 95% of your schedule's gonna be cupcake, you have to earn you way into respect and prove you belong. If there's a 8 team playoff system, Hawaii would and should be still left out. If you're trully believe you're better you need to prove it. If there is a 16 team playoffs, Hawaii would make it, but I guarantee there still will be controversey. They barely beat Washington, and that team is the crap of the crop in the Pac - 10 this year.
But that's the thing with mid - majors, a couple of them might have a good year here and there. You don't have consistent staying power like you do the big conferences. Look at Boise state's schedule this year, there's no way a team with that schedule should even be ranked this year with 2 losses. They earned respect/benefit of the doubt because of what they did last year, but if they don't go undefeated next year, there's a good chance that they wont be ranked at all.
The college people need to adjust their outlook, imo...Its not asking them to go from 15 games to 30. In the NFL and other sports, getting "sent home early" is a BAD thing. A team plays extra games cuz its GOOD enough to advance. If a team WANTS the championship, they're looking forward to facing the next team. They dont see it as "extra games" on a long shedule. Its already bad how some teams dont play for 2 MONTHS before a bowl game. Thats already unheard of in ANY other sport. There's a risk of injury adding games to some of the draft prospects, but maybe that means more playing time for some other players during the season. Lastly 99% of the 19 year olds will become 23 year olds who will never play football again anyways......
