Why is it that the NBC televised Rockets/Lakers game is so diffrent to view. It's like your right there in action on the court, and you really get a feel and see all the extra little things that go on during the game. My question is why doesn't are common home games get such great camera shots and things of that sort. Is it that the NBC cameras are able to set up in better areas or what? I just wish all the Rockets games could be shown to us with the NBC technology and camera vision. [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited February 03, 2000).]
I agree. If you watch all the other rockets games on wb and fsw you can see how the court is darker and the camera is so crappy. I remember when the bulls played the rockets and the game was on wb and wgn. GUESS WHICH ONE I WATCHED.. WGN , because you could see more clearly.
Actually, NBC has added some special camera shots this year for every game they broadcast, including a shot at the bench which catches what the coaches said to the players. Pretty cool! I still don't like NBC broadcasting Rocket ball, though, unless the Rockets continue to win on NBC.
The difference between NBC/TNT and Fox Sports or WB39 is one simple thing: $$$ NBC and TNT/TBS have HUGE operating budgets thanks to nearly $4 BILLION in revenues from NBA games. They also, spend millions on their equipment for other sporting events as well. Fox SW and WB just don't have that luxury.
Watching games on TBS/TNT is also something I look forward to. They have all the technology and camera angles that NBC have, but they have better announcers.
