Bill just annouced that Steve is on the inactive list with a sore back. :( I was hoping that fall wasn't serious but it's bad enough to keep him out the game.

See, Steve is the anti-Bonzi. He lays it on the line.

he got up and played the rest of the game. Are you sure it was from that fall?

Maybe it just tightened up when he cooled down i guess...

I'm pretty sure that has something to do with is. Yeah he played afterwards but that's the Franchise. It takes a lot to take him out a game. He'll play through injuries if he can, even migraine headaches.

brooks is in uniform...i am sure Rick feels that the team is good enough to beat the kings without steve (and they certainly are) and is probably just giving him some rest to make sure he is fully healthy...no need to risk aggravating something unnecessarily.

steve has proven he should be getting around 20-25 minutes a night i think he wont be losing his spot when he returns

    Beat me to it.

I love how so many members here remember him as a hero and a legend with toughness on par with the Terminator but with monster hops and the ability to never lose a game.

Do we judge guys on their career anymore or do we decide what type of player they are based on youtube highlight videos?

Ok that was one bad incident in HOUSTON that he did. Name me some horrible acts under a Rockets uniform. There is a reason why Houston fans have so much love for him. He may have had incidents with other teams but he was not a problem in Houston.

Nobody said he had the ability to lose a game, but that's part of the reason people liked him so much. No matter how bad the team was doing, Steve played hard every single game. Fans know what type of player he is because they watched him shine in one of the darkest eras in Rockets history. You don't need youtube highlights for that unless you are a new fan and really young.

It's becoming more and more obvious that I have seen more of Steve Francis than you have. Steve Francis was and is known as a guy who never lived up to his potential.

But you would know that if you had actually been a Rocket fan during the Francis era.

Steve is the only player with any shred of intensity. tracy was great tonnight, but he only showed in the 2nd half. why was he pathetic in the first half?. why was yao so timid in the second half. with steve you can count on a great effoert in all of the 4 quarters. thats why hes my faver player on the rockets. :)

So you weren't wishing he was in during the 4th quarter last night? I watched Francis during his career in Houston earlier and yelled at his piccadillos as a player as much as anyone, but based solely on his play since getting in shape and getting some time this season, we badly needed him against the Kings. Late, he very well could have made the difference between winning and losing. If Francis can contribute, I don't give a damn how foolish or dense he was earlier. I only care how he plays now.

Alston was awful late. No surprise, but he was. Francis and James seem to play together rather well. I wish they'd had that chance in the 4th.
