The two hostages are freed so hillary has no incentive to talk to this man. but he is someone she knows (?) or he has some dirt on her (?) but if these two scenarios were the case, why would he strap a bomb to himself?

    2 Hostages Held in Clinton's N.H. Office
Intruder Has What Police Describe as a Pipe Bomb
    By RUSSELL GOLDMAN

    Nov. 30, 2007 —

Two hostages were released from Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign office in Rochester, N.H. today, some two hours after an armed man claiming to have a pipe bomb strapped to his chest and requesting to speak with the senator entered the office and took as many as four hostages.

Local police are believed to be negotiating with a man described as a well-known local with mental issues who told his son to "watch the news today." He is said to be in his 40s with salt and pepper hair.

Clinton was not in the New Hampshire office Friday but was scheduled to give an address at the Democratic National Committee meeting in Vienna, Va.

Local and police have surrounded the storefront office and snipers were seen on the roofs surrounding buildings. Sources tell ABC News that federal agents, a SWAT team and hostage negotiators are on stand-by.

Speaking from Virignia, where Clinton was expected to address the Democratic National Committee, DNC chairman Howard Dean confirmed the incident, calling it "a hostage situation involving a Clinton staffer."

One federal law-enforcement official told ABC News there are four possible hostages at the Clinton office, but that there was no federal involvement at this time.

Clinton's campaign office issued the following statement:

"There is an ongoing situation in our Rochester, N.H. office. We are in close contact with state and local authorities and are acting at their direction. We will release additional details as appropriate."

There were no immediate plans for the senator to go to New Hampshire.

Witnesses at the scene said a women and her baby ran from the building and called police.

"A young woman with a six-month or eight-month-old infant came rushing into the store just in tears, and she said, 'You need to call 911. A man has just walked into the Clinton office, opened his coat and showed us a bomb strapped to his chest with duct tape'," witness Lettie Tzizik told WMUR TV.

New Hampshire State Police Maj. Michael Hambrook told CNN that the man had freed some hostages but was holding others.

The Rochester offices of Clinton contenders John Edwards and Sen. Barrack Obama have been closed and evacuated and a local school is on lockdown.

Bill Shaheen, chairman of Clinton's campaign, said he believed two people, both volunteers were the hostages.

"Hopefully, they're going to negotiate this so no one gets hurt," Shaheen told WMUR-TV.

Let's ease off the posturing in an attempt to be popular. This is a serious matter. I love give and take as much as anyone, but this is not the thread for it.

Some of us can not like everything a person stands for but still not wish for that person to die. It's an attitude that everyone should have.

    i agree with you.

however, some of the venom that i have read about hillary on this board, you would think she was evil incarnate... if the rhetoric were more civil then i would believe that no ill will is wished upon her. but that is not the case.

    Couldn't agree more.

Same here. Making a joke out of these situations is just as distasteful to me as someone calling for the injury of a player.

    Impeach Bush.
